QUOTE (ORCACommander @ Mar 12 2007, 07:04 PM) RA2 comes before TD but doesn't take place in the TD universe That's right, but it was born in the events of Tiberian Incursion, according to Ishmael

The easiest way I would see this coming around is... Red Alert 1 Soviet win ---> Tiberian Dawn ---> Tiberian sun Red Alert 2 Allies Win ---> Red Alert 2
It will be interesting to see what EA decides to do

maybe... GDI took control of the world later on after that. I know it's not the real meaning but....

My personal view of cnc is now:
Our Universe: Generals - +++ Red Alert: Red Alert 1 - Red Alert 2 - Red Alert 3 \ Tiberium: Tiberian Dawn - Tiberian Sun - Tiberium Wars (not orginal, I know!)
To me it seems that red alert 1 can result in starting the Tiberium universe or making its own universe, the red alert universe

Then it doesn't make sence at all. Red Alert 2 should in my opinion be a lot different. The technology, terrain and the movies.
: More serious movies
: Not that kind of technology, this makes tiberian dawn look like it's before red alert 2 ( even it's not in the same universe, technology shouldn't envolve that fast )
: Better storyline, more of a prequel to Red Alert 1, it doesn't look like one.
: Terrain is too cartoony, should been more like TS terrain.

i feel that RA2 was just a game made to make money, not to extend on the RA1 story or even connect it to TS. It was very cartoony not in that i mean that in the way of how it looked but the story. it was just to be funny. then YR came out , it was kind of a play on all those twilight zone type stories. mind control, yuri's ufos, his base in transylvania. i say RA2 doesnt even have to be in the universe of RA1 nor does it have to be a seperate universe, its just a game made with no intent of keeping with a story.
as for the tiberium universe story, you can pretty much tell it comes after RA1 because kane comes to power. wether they really meant for it to be when they were making it doesnt matter because it is now. and as for the thoughts on the iron curtain and chronosphere being gone, they were different games. WW didnt want to just remake TD when they made RA1. and TD was allready made so when they decided to connect the stories they probably didnt feel the need to explain how technologies change between the games, theyre just different games meant to play differently.
mostly i just want to know WWs ideas or if they had a full story on kane. i just want to know the whole story behind him and the entire brotherhood. also about cabals importance other than just being a new enemy to fight. also as for the thought on kane having a deal with the scrin, i dont like it. i feel that when kane found the scrin ship (showing that the scrin have also been to earth, not just tiberium) that he came upon their plot there. maybe he even met some scrin but i dont think he made a deal with them. i feel that the scrin didnt have any other contact with the planet because if they had i think they would have been able to spread tieberium faster and easier than would having kane do it. kane knows somthing about the power of tiberium. ooh maybe its like the story to the X-files. tiberium holds the key to making it impossible for the scrin to take the planet and its people. ehh too many new questions.
its just that if the scrin had any more knowledge about earth than they did when they first sent tiberium there, they would be able to spread tiberium a lot faster without the need of kane. and as for the teleporting thing kane does. if you say that the scrin have teleportation technology then wouldnt it make sense that kane would get that technology when he found the scrin ship. he says that he found it near the end of the first tiberium war, which is when he teleported out of the temple of nod.
also i want to know WWs intentions for the actual scrin. i just really wonder how far EA deviated from WWs concept.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the darkness at Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.

Well Ninja, i think i agree with most of what you said. Having just finished playing TW, i just read the following quote on page 2: QUOTE QUOTE(Ishmael-PG @ Mar 8 2007, 06:27 PM) Kane built CABAL and incorporated pieces of his psyche into the machine while constructing its personality. Ever see the film "Saturn 5"? The robot learned its obsessions and murderous tendencies from the "teacher" it was connected to -- a similar thing happened here. CABAL is an extension of Kane's mind so that Kane would have a completely obedient and cunning ally. Unfortunately, the data from the Tacitus gave CABAL some other desires that allowed him to bend Kane's will and desires....
FWIW, there were 5 eventual factions planned when we were talking about C&C3 it back at WW: GDI, Nod, Scrin (first release), Forgotten (expansion 1), CABAL (expansion 2). Now this is interesting. CABAL is nowhere to be found in CnC3. However Kane is suddenly back. This creates an interesting opportunity to bring back CABAL in an expansion pack. By the way it's clear that Kane did NOT make a deal with the Scrin, as their leader clearly states that he wants to know more about the phenomenon 'Kane'.

More! QUOTE (Ishmael-PG @ Apr 9 2007, 01:55 AM) QUOTE (popcorn2008 @ Apr 8 2007, 10:41 PM) So in TW it is a liquid tiberium explosion that summons the scrin to Earth, "Ichor LQ Detonation". Was this planned from the start?
It was not. It was the scrin rebels that fled with the tacitus that brings the Scrin forces to Earth. QUOTE (popcorn2008 @ Apr 8 2007, 10:41 PM) Now that being said, was the storyline changed from what you guys intended Kane's original goals to be? It's different than we had planned it, but remember it didn't go through as much scrutiny because we never got to filming stages with it. I don't know how it would have ended up with us, but it was different in the planning stages.
