There has been a lot of C&C 4 news but I've failed to keep this updated, this makes up for it (hopefully)

This is the REAL trailer for Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight not that P.O.S. teaser trailer.



It gives away some valuable info about the game and about Kane.

And instead of making this a game, it would be better if it were made into a movie, cause so many people hate the crawler idea, it would be better as a movie.

But if it were a movie, I don't think the actor's could keep up with the awesome it would have.

That's why I want it to be a movie, I don't want to play it, I just want to watch the cutscenes and find out what happens.
EDIT: Now we also know that Kane has been trapped on Earth for "thousands of years"

Perhaps I was wrong about the stories failure.

Though I've been in the beta. The gameplay is... well, it's pretty boring, but it's barely tolerable. Not to say that I prefer it over the old times, of course.

Strangely resembles a certain tower in C&C4. Would seem EA is taking a biblical approach after all.

Seems to me the player is the same guy (LEGION/CABAL) as in Kane's Wrath?

Meh, I thought it would be less hollywood dramatics and instead westwood simplicity like the TS trailer.

C&C4 is silly. Why?

The FMVs are dramatic, lots of money, time and hard work has been put in to them. Tensions are high. The excited players can't wait to see what the missions are like.

What do they get? A bunch of some of the silliest, ugliest, and simply the worst 3D models out there. Impractical, crazy unit designs, that may have looked good on paper, end up in the game as ugly toys with colours with intense contrast. The engine could definitely support models of bigger poly counts, but the designers have a necessity to keep them as low as in Generals. Just take a glimpse at the Scorpion Tank, Obeylisk and Nod Engineer to see what I mean. Oh, and don't forget the flashing bright purple magic bullets.

Also, I dislike the way Kane becomes more humane the more he makes appearances. Although a less creative character to develop, I prefered the cold-blooded, emotionless mastermind with unknown motives.

I don't understand EA's will to have famous actors, I don't think WW really had any and at least for me their FMVs still looked better.
They should also make some battle cutscenes for the missions' endings.

Although I stopped caring about new C&Cs a long time ago and I think most others have done too, most of my friends who see C&C4 beta advertisements for the first time ask me "There's a new C&C in production?" (in other words, they've never heard about this game before and they've been C&C fans in the past).

I totally agree with you in regards to the units, but remember that C&C TD had Kane as more human.

Not really. In TD he only smiled once or twice, whilst in TS he even laughs. In C&C4, we can expect to see tears in his eyes

Well yeah, but he did those in a sinister way. In TD he didn't really do anything.

I think in C&C4 he'll be a mix of the both.

i gotta say, for all their faults, EA has done something rather impressive: they've managed to make a game, where the story is so compelling, that people will buy it even if the gameplay is boring and mediocre.
I really can't wait to see what happens.

Apparently we (at least I can't) cannot see the video anymore the way you described.

It's the old video he is talking about, not the one we have to select because of copyright reasons.

Goddamn, that was, dare I say, intriguing and looked really great. Story seems solid from where I can see it.

Wish the gameplay and units weren't sh*t, though.
