After starting a game I've noticed that although TS has a lot of AI triggers, the game AI seems to use just some of them and not the same every time.

By example in a game against 7 hard AIs (4 GDI AIs, 3 Nod AIs) and I was GDI; some GDI AIs just kept building defensive teams (2 of them), with the result of their bases filled with artillery mechs (LKO colossus) and Cerberus (LKO Medusa) and the other 2 played hard on offensive (A really big amount of disruptors, cerberus and hover mlrs), 1 Nod AI just kept building cyborg attack teams (reapers, redemeers (again thanks LKO) and normal cyborgs) and the others just kept spamming bikes (it's a very effective tactic in my mod) and using stealth teams of Wraiths (new name for the stealth tank) and cloaked black hands.

When I first noticed this I thought it was the 100 units bug, but I don't have 100 units, so it was kinda weird  ; then I saw that the AIs did build other taskforces but just in a very small number, and functioned very well, didn't just kept building and doing nothing. Finally when I destroyed a GDI AI (was funny and costly to attack with all those colossus in its base), the other AIs attacked my base and overrun it. (Note it was the first time the AI overrun me in that way)

Note: about infantry, the AIs built the same taskforces than the others of the same side, with the exception of one GDI AI which kept attacking me with jumpjet infantry teams.

So this is my small question, and more than anything else it's just for curiosity ^_^ :
Does the AI at game startup pick a some taskforces and will only use those which it picked up?, or it was just coincidence and the AI will normally use every taskforce?

Some taskforces are more common than others for the simple fact that there are more triggers that make use of them; Also, in this particular game (or mod you were using) you might have had the AI Generals function enabled which is said to enable different styles of warfare (defensive, offensive) and picks certain triggers accordingly.

Also if you messed around with the AI.ini you may have simply increased the probability of the AI using those teams, somehow.

Thanks The DvD; thought that that behavior was quite weird, but anyways, it's cool.
Should have been something that I messed up in the ai.ini; or maybe it has been always there and never noticed it before lol.gif

One of the reasons I don't play skirmish alot anymore...
Because the AI always use the same tricks (triggers tongue.gif). That begins to be boring.
Only when I'm testing for TS:V I use that skirmish thing.
