The EA CNC News page has something new for you guys who own CNC3: it's an official ladder tournament, prizes and all.. The link describes it in better detail, but for those too lazy to click on it, here's some of what it says: "Calling all Command & Conquer fans: jump on our 1v1 online multiplayer ladder now and engage in battle! Season 1 of the new official Command & Conquer 3 League has begun, so start climbing the 1v1 ladder!
...
The top commander of the season will win a tiberium-colored check for $5000, courtesy of EA as well as a sweet entertainment package from Logitech! Runner-ups will also receive EA cash prizes and goodies from Logitech.
Season 1 will last exactly for 3 months with the regular season ending at 1PM Eastern Standard Time Dececember 17th, and a grand championship tournament to follow shortly thereafter. There are 32 qualifying spots up for grabs for the end of season tournament, which will determine our grand champion of season 1!
To enter, all you have to do is start playing online on our 1v1 ladder. Your win/loss record and the ranking of the players you play determine your overall ranking on the 1v1 ladder at any given time. The more games that you win, and the higher the rankings of the players you defeat, the higher you will move up the ladder, closer to #1. Along the way, there will be 3 opportunities during the 3-month season for you to qualify for one of the coveted 32 spots for the end of season tournament.
The winners of the Competition will be determined through a series of 3 qualification rounds and a season ending online tournament as follows:
--- Qualification Round 1 – Sept 24 (1pm EST) to October 22 (1pm EST).
--- Qualification Round 2 – Oct 22 (1.01pm EST) to November 19 (1pm EST)
--- Qualification Round 3 – November 19 (1.01pm EST) to December 17 (1pm EST)
Season Ending Online Tournament – TBD"The prizes? check it out: "Grand Finalist Prize: One (1) USD $5,000 check, a signed autograph photo of Kane, Z-5500 Logitech Surround Sound System, and a Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser Keyboard + Mouse Combo (approximate retail value USD $5600.00)
Runner Up Prize: One (1) USD $1,000.00 check, Logitech G51 Surround Sound Speaker System and G-15 Gaming Keyboard and G-15 mouse and a Kane Bobble-head (approximate retail value USD $1400.00)
Second Runner Up Prize: (1) USD $500.00 check, Logitech Z-10 Interactive Speaker System and G-15 Gaming Keyboard and G5 Laser Mouse, and a KANE bobble-head (approximate retail value USD $820.00)
Third Runner Up Prize: (1) Logitech G-15 Gaming Keyboard and G5 Laser Mouse, and a KANE bobble-head (approximate retail value USD $200.00)"If I owned CNC3 and had the time to burn, this is something I'd definitely join up in this one.. But for those of you who do have those things, get in there and play!

QUOTE (Omen @ Oct 6 2007, 03:09 PM) It's all but tactical, you win only if you have more stuff than your enemy. Only if YOU let this happen. Thats why i prefer Nod and rush tactics, usually i pack up my MCV right at the beginning and start spreading like hell, and ofcourse, for the main course i sneak up on the enemys base, deploy a war factory there and leave. After that i start pumping out flame tanks and cripple theyr economy. I force them on defending rather than spamming pitbulls or mammoths. And usually the 1vs1 isn't like that, when you play with the pro's. But i gotta admit it, TW's gameplay is going downhill, the main reason for this all is the multiple production queue. If it was like in TS, people would appreciate theyr units more, and would be forced to use them to theyr full potential.

I agree with your point with TS, though. QUOTE RTS, Rampage Tank Spam.

All of the C&Cs are spam. TS has Titan spam, or Hover MLRS (depending on your preferance.). RA has Heavy or Light Tank spam(depending on team), RA2 has Grizzly Tank or Rhino Tank spam(or Conscripts...).
Welcome to reality. These games are not that strategic. :3
