I just downloaded final sun, tried to start it up, but it says TS is not installed. I do have TFD, does that make a difference?

hmmm I think its just some type of Registry problem with it. Don't know exactly though since I don't have TFD. Though I thought I remembered seeing a thread at PPM about this but I just looked and the only thing I found was one from SleepWalker but I don't think he got it fixed as his last post seemed sarcastic about all the help he got. confused.gif

I will try to look again for more on this. Other than that I can only suggest making sure you put it in the TS directory of it all which I'm pretty sure is where it would have gone anyways.

i don't have TS installed too (only the files, but no damn registry data), and FinalSun works. An error appears with "Failed to access registry. Using manual setting. Error was: The System cannot find the file specified" but then it works when i click on OK.

So you don't have to have TS installed. All files in the TS directory that are copied after a normal install seem to be enough.
Also TS unlike RA2 doesn't need the registry data to play the game. (stupid windaft registry puke.gif ranting.gif )

I don't really have TFD either, but if I were to make an edumacated guess..

It's looking for the directory of the original TS, in order (C:Westwood/Sun) If you make that directory yourself and copy the contents of your TFD directoy, it should work.. (actually, you might only need tibsun.mix and expand01.mix in there)

Hmm.. I had the same issue, I download the TFD shorcut installer and it worked perfectly.

Use patch 1.02 its safer (install TFD 1.01 first for the fixes on the RA and TD movies (and music?) patch 1.02 doesn't do it for some reason wacko.gif )

TFD patch 1.02 or the shortcut installer will fix the problem. Putting Final Sun in the TS directory may cause problems.

Like i said, U r broke TFD.

Does it still do that? because you could just start of the installation from the Autorun off the DVD and Repair or Reinstall that way.

I installed it in the SUN dicionary, it's working.

Making my first map. About half way through. I'm pretty pleased with it.
