So my file is saved as "fsgdi01" and when I play it-it immediately says mission failed. I'm assuming its because I haven't set up my Win and Lose trigger correctly. I'm basically trying to build a Single player Map where you play as GDI and you have a constant wave of NOD come at you. If they break through you're defenses and destroy you're construction yard you lose. However, if you can find the enemy base and destroy it then you win. So I mean it seams pretty simple I think. I would appreciate any advice/tips and defiantly some help on the "Win Lose trigger." Thanks guys!

Win is on top lose is on the bottom. After I made them I hit place on map. What I'm trying to have happen is make it so that If the GDI construction yard only is destroyed then its game over. If you destroy all the NOD buildings then you win. This is for FS and I did set "addon needed" to 1 for the "Basic" properties. Don't know what else I am missing, if I just forgot to do something.

Tru using the "No factories left" or "attached object destroyed" events instead. If you use the "attached object destroyed" event, you'll have to attach the trigger to the Construction Yard.

Note that I haven't done triggers since I made Red Death Unchained a year ago and I might not remember the events correctly, but you could try it.

Cool, I tired that (no factories left) only it still says "Mission failed" when I try to play it. I'm prolly forgetting to do something. I haven't built any Task forces or Teams yet. I have my houses set. I only have two waypoints at this point in time (98 and 99 if that helps) and both sides have money. I used to know how to make some pretty tight multilayer maps so I figured I'd give a single player map a try. So I'm a noob when it comes to single player maps but I'm trying to look up tutorials and read about building a single player map. What the basics are etc...

Well, that's your problem. roll.gif

When you use the "Destroyed all" event, it triggers immediately after you start the map because GDI doesn't have any units or structures. Same thing with the "No factories left" event, since GDI has no factories placed it triggers when the mission has been started.

So, to fix it, just place GDI a Construction Yard in FinalSun before testing the map.

I have one already. I have two bases set up, A GDI base, with one construction yard and bunch of other buildings. And a NOD base with a construction yard and a bunch of other buildings. It still says "Mission failed" When I start it. I think I'm missing something else. I'm not sure what tho.

double click the GDI conyard and attach it to the lose trigger. It should be listed under "tags""

Make the only event on that trigger "destroyed by anything" and the action "loser is... 0 GDI"

that should solve the problem

Swore I responded to this, anyway It didn't work. Do I need to actually place it on the map or just attach it to the construction yard? Do I need to attach one to the nod base as well?

Everything I can think of is that you've placed the base for some other house than GDI or something.. or you've made some other trigger which causes the player to lose the mission.

If you go with the "destroyed by anything" trigger, you'll need to attach the tag to the construction yard.

No idea, I've been wondering about it too.. I think I'll try it during the autumn holidays next week (open some map with Notepad, load the map with FinalSun, "place some triggers on the map", and then open a second Notepad window with the map and compare the files).

Hit place on map and then you can paint celltags with the trigger attached. I thought that was common knowledge, is that not how you place your celltags?

Here I'll just upload the map, It's not complete yet so go easy still gotta fix a lot of things and add all the actions. If someone would like to take a look at it and let me know if you can find something I've over looked I would greatly appreciate it. I've never uploaded a file on here before so I just used MEGAUPLOAD. Heres the link all you have to do is type in the code shown.

@Dudeinabox: So.. I've always put all my celltags using the menu on the left (and now, after doing lots and lots of maps I get to know a faster way.. Meh roll.gif ).

@mg1999: I have a few exams on this week, so either someone else will look at it or I'll do so next week.

Haha, I've know that since I started trying my hands at single player maps (non of which I released). I've never used the celltag function at the side because of it.

HO?! TB quit trying to pimpify the Aro classic!

anyways...yea..knew that it sent you to auto-celltag placement for that trigger after I started messing with triggers and clicked that and then went to go do something on the map and it threw down a celltag. Though for some reason it was about 50/50 that i'd use it to place cell tags rather than the long method...don't know why...it's much easier to do it from there....

but...back on-topic...i may take a look tomorrow as I might be in finalsun a bit. We shall see...
Also i have to apologize for the slowness of the mapping section right now...we mappers have been losing interest or the ones who would be active got sucked up by a mapper eating disease called TI which doesn't host/update on Tibweb thus less mapper activity here now. Yes Aro...you know it's true... tongue.gif

I lost interest because people don't really care about public assets.

However, I still have multiple WIPs (Red Death Unchained 1.2, a lightning/base building space fix for City in Conflict, and a whole new singleplayer map which I've made the terrain for but which lacks the triggers and all other stuff...)

But these WIPs haven't had any progress for about 6 months roll.gif

I don't make public maps because TO and TI have some flippin sweet terrain to play with.

But you're right in that I think TI should have some more activity here

Ka-Bumpa-Bumpy-Bumped-the-Topic-you-Bastard!

First things first, I noticed a certain Team Black tried to rape an Aro classic, so for that I must respond with: OH NO HE DIDN'!!

Secondly, Twisted Insurrection has now been hosted here so you don't have to worry about lack of TI updates on the TiberiumWeb side anymore, I appologize that I didn't decide to get hosted here sooner, but it seemed pointless until I was reassured by some certain members.

Next point: I used to enjoy creating maps for public use and I'd still do it if Twisted Insurrection never ate up the remainders of my free time, I'd prefer to work on my mod as it will pay off more in the long run than producing a few public maps would. Back then I'd care and compete to get spotlights and what-not but now that I think about it, it seems so pointless now, a move from one forum to another with a different name isn't all that special...

Last of all, ^Rampastein, you really should consider finishing off your WIP's, you're one of the few good mappers that are still around these days and it would be a shame for your work to go to waste. If you decide you're not going to finish them, why not donate them to me? Or better yet, join TI as a mapper. tongue.gif
I've been considering using some public maps people have posted (Some of Ixith's caught my attention), but the fact is after trying it out they just don't go well with TI's new terrain, maps have to be built up from scratch for TI's terrain, any public maps for vanilla Tiberian Sun would require complete re-detailing which just isn't fun to do (speaking from experience). That's the only reason I'm not using some public maps. Not that it isn't possible to simply edit some public maps, It's just complicated to do and the original owner of the map would have an easier time doing it than I or any of the other TI mappers would, I've already got Dudeinabox and Q45 editing their best public maps for TI soil.

Anyway, let me know what's crackin'.

I'm still laughing at this thread by the way, and some of you call yourselves mappers. For shame... tongue.gif

Once either TI or TO (or both) are released, who would map normal TS? Really the "flippin' sweet" terrain of either trump the TS stuff, as does gameplay. In some ways however, I believe that TO and TI signal the end of an era.

...TI.

@Aro: I've been lately programming a lot (and also had a lot of exams) and haven't had any free time for mapping, let's see if I can do something as a late Christmas / New Year present though. About getting "kidnapped" by TI like most other mappers.. well, if I finish those WIPs someday I can consider it lol.gif
