TS has no adv. guard tower? Do you mean the component tower?
What do you mean with "making it's primary weapon a sensor"? The SensorArray logic has nothing to do with a weapon. It's a separate key which gives a building an additional special ability to detect cloaked/subterranean units.
Show us some code so we can see what you have done. Right now I can't help you with the vague information you've given us.

SensorArray=yes
HasRadialIndicator=true
RadialColor=0,200,0
CloakRadiusInCells=255 ;raised range to scan whole map
