1: First you need to check the [name] of the billboard, you can do this by holding your mouse over the billboard in FinalSun and you'll see it at the bottom. Then open your map in Notepad, and add [*the name of your billboard*] and below it "Name=*the name you want it to show ingame*"
Example-
[BBOARD03]
Name:Why is all the rum gone?
2: Just copy the unit's code you want to change from rules.ini to your map, and change the "Name=" tag.

Unfortunately there's no way to view your lighting in FinalSun at this point..

Remember to use a reveal map trigger while testing the map if you haven't, it'll definitely help you

I usually just go out of the map and press the windows key and go in-game again. Sorry, no other way mad.gif
And take Team black's suggestion too!

The Rules.ini is located in a MIX file in your tiberian sun cd.
And no that is incorrect.
it should look something like this.

[CITY17]
Name=HAX! Incorporated

provided if that is the building's ini name that you want ingame name to be changed.

You can download it from the download archive here somewhere I'm pretty sure.

It can be found in Tibsun.mix, and then into some sub.mixes, if for firestorm find it in the expand01.mix or another expand##.mix file

I don't think he knows what XCC mixer is roll.gif
The program can be found here - http://www.tiberiumweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=850
And with it you can extract Rules.ini from your mix file, everything else is pretty much explained.

Well at some point it's supposed to look like that, only that there should be alot more lines, i got 2330 lines in a map that's 50% done. There also should be tree and building entrys, that's ofcourse if you have them. I can't really help you at the moment, you could upload the map so that we could have a deeper look into it.

I looked through the map, and i found the problem, 2 problems actually. Well first off, the code is fine, and you might of have gotten confused about where your City17 entry went, it merged with the rest of the code on top. Just placing [CITY17] and "Name=HAX! Incorporated" doesn't work, you have to copy, the WHOLE code and then change the name. Just the "Name=" tag only works for billboards. But that wasn't what made the map crash, it was the reveal all trigger. You attached the trigger to itself, wich made the map crash. I got the fixed version, but i would really want you to fix it yourself, since you'll learn from your mistakes that way.
Edit: I'll have to experiment more, i tweaked some things and it still seems to crash, hold on.
Edit2: How stupid of me, everything i said above is correct but the reason it crashed is because there are no Nod players while the reveal map trigger was set to Nod.
