Well, my sister has a 60 Gb mp3 player (not an ipod), she could use it to backup files, but she won't mad2.gif
It's quite fun to look at, has the size of an old walkman (it's an external drive wich reproduces mp3) lol.gif

If those ipod things can store data, other than mp3, I think it is worth it; think of it like a cooler external drive.

I do not understand it.
Why would people be willing to spend that much money on an I-pod, when MP3's are just as good?

My MP3 Player can hold up to 1000 songs and Voice recordings.
And it only cost me £19.99...

So why buy something for £300, when its just as good as a simple MP3?

ye I own a 2005 4g ipod mini - the model wasn't even out for a year before being replaced/made obsolete by the ipod nano's.

A 4 gig nano today I think is a little more than $200 USD..
Crative Zen has an 8 gig for the same price; more durable, more accessable (dont need @#$ itunes to manage all your music), removable battery, and some other stuff...
plus, its not apple.

for now though I'm hppy with my black-and-white screen ipod Mini; It plays my music, what in crap else would I want it to do?

Video ipods were a stupid idea as well; I watched Pirates of the Carribean 2 on my friend's ipod, and it was like torture. my eyes strained at th tiny screen for like 2 hours of movie, the @@#$ earbud headphones were freakin killing my ears...then the battery was dying...

ipods (except Mini's, of course) suck. Don't buy em.
Apple sucks. I hate mac's, they're not compatable with CRAP (unless you have some kind of leet OS transformagranizer that can enable mac/pc compatibility)

Yeah, it sucks that Ipods can't have their battery changed when it just dies. For hearing music I'll prefer a zen jukebox, but anyways I wouldn't know what to do with that amount of space at most I would use 1 gb.

By the way for creative zen jukeboxes you still need software to manage your songs.

I've completely filled up my 6GB ipod mini. And have to delete and replace stuff when I get new music. I count myself as having a small music collection. It's just nice to be able to have all of your music with you all the time.

I have a Creative Zen Microphoto (8GB), which cost me €179,-

It has 8 GB of spacious room
Built in FM radio
Voice recorder
high-res color screen (w/ ability to show photos)
Ability to store data without the need to install extra drivers (can't say the same for the IPod). Just make sure you bring your cable along tongue.gif

note on the cable: it's a type that's used all over the place: mostly for cameras. So even if you do forget it, there's a big chance there's always one nearby!

And this puppy cost a lot less than the 8GB IPod, which does not even have a radio or voice-recorder.
Also, the Creative Zen has a battery you can remove/replace yourself.

According to some, the Creative Zen also has better sound quality, which isn't surprising, as Creative has their whole industry based on sound hardware.

I've been thinking of getting a Creative Zen Vision W, but I wouldn't buy an iPod, they're way too pricey and they really aren't that great, in my opinion. Having said that, I wouldn't be averse to buying an iPhone once they come out in Canada, though I guess I'd have to switch to Rogers...
Creative's have better audio anyway. As tomb said, their whole company is based around audio quality.

ye I'd prefer a Creative Zen over an ipod.
Since I already have an ipod though I can't really go switching it up now.
my Mini is obsolete, it's hardly possible I could sell it for more than $100, or $150 if I'm really lucky.
Since it was made in 2005 it's been replaced at least two times.
Who knows, perhaps I can sell it as an antique

Apple doesn't suck. Many reasons: (1)You can't play games, (2)You can't mod games, because you can't play them, (3) you can't relax wit games, because you can't play them and (4) those PC's are SLOW, and Mac Hardware is hard to get.
So, point 1 let it suck, and point 2 also, so do 3 and 4. Sucking is negative. And if you do: -1 x -1 x -1 x -1 = 1... Because negative times negative is positive. So it doesn't suck. tongue.gif
Continue: (5)You can perfectily do graphical thins such as looking videos and drawing.
Ok, that where al positive points.

I had a 1GB MP3 Player. It got filled up fast. I went out and bought a 4GB Ipod Nano. It's almost full too! Ipod is the best MP3 Player there is, in my opinion. Creative's Ipod Wannabe MP3 Player is a piece of shit, my aunt has one. It's bigger, more bulky, and it has problems. Any MP3 Player with a FM Tuner sucks, because you have to hold the damn thing an arm's length into the air just to receive any stations clearly (at least where I live). Ipod's are smaller, easier to use, sexier, and a better bang for your buck.

Uh, (decent) Creative MP3 players are about the same size as decent iPods... And how does having more features than the iPod, even if they don't all work perfectly where you live, make it worse? huh.gif
Before I sold my Creative MP3 player, the FM radio worked fine no matter where I held it. Maybe you just need to move to a city. wink1.gif

Creatives sound better have more features, and are about the same size and sexiness, so I would argue that they are easily more bang for your buck.
And I mean that literally, Creatives get you laid. tongue.gif

Last time I checked, DeathRay, Creative MP3 Players are larger than the Ipod Nano.

QUOTE

I never said features ... I said the FM tuner. Of a matter of fact, DeathRay, I do live in a city, and I do catch stations on my FM tuner, but if you put it somewhere where it can't clearly recieve that signal (you walk past a wall, you go in a tunnel, you put it in your pocket so you don't have to hold the damn thing, etc.), it'll become staticy and very annoying to listen to. And yes, these stations I am talking about ARE in the same city as me.

As I said, decent ones. I'm not talking about the 1GB or less ones, I'm talking the Zen, the hard drive ones, compared to the hard drive iPods.
And the FM tuner is one of its features... iPods don't have a radio tuner at all, so I maintain that an extra feature cannot make it worse than the iPod, no matter how well that extra feature works.

My iRiver H10 has a radio tuner which is fine, I've never had any static issues with it in my pocket at all. When I bought it (late 2004) it was cheaper than an iPod, had a colour screen (which the iPod hadn't introduced) and could view images. It even looks nice and isn't that obnoxious white plastic that coats iPods. Oh, and I can replace the battery without needing to get a new MP3 player or voiding the warranty.

I've got a Packet Bell thingy of 256 MB... ALWAYS COMPLETILY FILLED. But 256 is too less. Especialy to me. I think I've a small MP3 Collection of only 20 Hours, and around the 5 GB.

I think a IPod will be filled fast also!
Why not a PDA? That's cooler, but I don't know how much space they have.
