At this point I'm mainly waiting for browsers to catch up, so right now it looks best in Webkit.
It isn't yet fully functional in IE, the dropdown menus don't appear like they should.
Navigation links don't go anywhere.

Another one some people might remember:
http://www.d2kstudios.com/CSS%20OS/
It has been updated a little; it also looks best in Webkit.
I've rigged up a window for an example application (GMail).

What do you think?
ChielScape
ugh. graphics-wise, nice, but seriously sucks when i want to read something. especially on widescreen monitors, you can see about 5 lines of text.
you should really decrease the size of the top bar, and it may be best to just move it to the side.
DonutArnold
Nice and the text is readable on my laptop. smile.gif
ChielScape
what i meant is, the bar is kinda as annoying as this one when trying to view a page.

I never noticed because I never scrolled down! Apart from that it looks pretty good.

Awesome - but like, Chiel said, the top bar shouldn't stay there when trying to scroll down, the drop down menu should have a background because I nearly missed it when navigating.
And Sidebars, sidebar are always awesome.

Agreed. Sidebars are win. thumbup.gif

Sidebars get convoluted. And there is a background on the dropdowns in any good browser. Other browsers (IE and Opera) will be fixed before release.
jadems
the dropdown background don't appear for me in Firefox...
DeathRay2K
It does in Firefox 3; I haven't tested in 2.
I expect the problem is due to a lack of support for rgba...
Edit: It's now fixed in FF2, but Opera and IE still have problems. Opera especially, it's doing some really crazy things... Standards compliant my ass.
Aztek985
Make it work in IE7!
jadems
Now totally awesome. Do what Python says now XD
DeathRay2K
I've made it functional in IE, but it still doesn't look as good as other browsers...

To me (firefox 2 I believe) the rolldown thingy's work. I don't know if you fixed that bar on the top yet, but to me it's kind of annoying when reading. It would be really annoying if you have 800x600 I guess, because that bar takes relatively much space. A nice sidebar, that doesn't scroll down with the main page would be nice...

But then better of course tongue.gif Just got bored, and made it quickly in an easy program wink1.gif

Well, I don't see anything wrong with the site and my res is 1280x800 and I'm using Firefox 2.

Now it's just Opera with problems, and I have no idea why it hates CSS so much...
Ixith
hmmm I think I smell someone who is on their way to being banned.
Seriously EAShortBus...if you don't like whats going on and can't provide constructive criticism then just stay out. This is the 3rd time now I have seen pointless crap from you. Funnily enough is that it is your 3rd post.

As for the site. I think it looks pretty good. I don't know what I could suggest to make it better though mainly because I don't do that kind of thing and I am not truly all that interested in website design/layout. Just as long as its functional and it can serve its purpose then its good in my book.
