Alright people, here it is. Vote on your favourite map from TS and (optional) FS. Please post as to why you think that it is THEE best map, in your opinion. And please, don't just post (I like Cityscape), explain as to why WITH MORE THAN ONE SENTENCE it's a teh uber l33t map. Please don't turn this into an anti-WW made map thread either.

I'll start.

My favourite TS map is Grand Canyon. I like it because it's a fun map for a free-for-all comp stomp on a rainy afternoon. Blow all the bridges, and you've effectively taken out 2 of the A.I.s, allowing you to focus on the one on your side of the map. Once you've taken him out, wait for the 2 A.I.s to battle it out on the other side of the map, occasionally sending bombing raids to the A.I.'s bases, while building the ultimate defence area around your side of ONE of the bridges, and building up a sh!t load of disruptors. Once one A.I. on the other side is a clear winner, repair just the bridge you built defences on. That bottlenecks the A.I., allowing my Juggernauts and Mammoth mk. 2s to have a field day. Fly some disruptors over to the other side, while sending more disruptors across the bridge, and you've got a good 2 pronged assault going on, which no A.I can defend against if you have bomber escort and a second wave handy just in case.

The map is also fairly symmetrical, although the south side has more tiberium value, the north is easier to defend against pitiful attacks sent by an A.I.

I don't have a particularly favourite FS map, but I quite enjoy Dueling Islands, as it offers a great quick match against the A.I. if I need to kill a few minutes. The map is balanced, easy to defend your base, with a lot of exploitable tiberium in the immediate area. It also has a good chunk of land for you base. All around good fun for amphibious assault too (With a back door the A.I. doesn't care about or defend wink1.gif )

EDIT: I cut some TS maps out since I pretty sure most people downright hate 'em (plus there is limited space)

well although there is already a thread stating this exact question I don't think it had a pole and really asked why.

Anyways I choose Hextreme for normal TS mainly because it was a fun 6 player snow map that had some nice ice access to bases in it. Just a fun map to play against the stupid AI IMO.

My FS map I choose was Dueling Islands to because its just a fun map. Plus its just freaking awesome for infantry wars. (now if only it had 2 bridge entrances one from the back side and involved going across island from island via bridges. )
Team Black
Grassy Knoll - I like how everyone wants the bottom right side because it's closed in with bridges.. I keep blowing up the bridge and close em off from the tiberium

Cityscape - teams can be evenly chosen, for either a 3 vs. 3 East vs. West, or 2 vs 2 vs 2, Top, West, East.
Also gotta love the trains and traffic, and that GDI outpost that we all love to destroy biggrin.gif

Erm? I dont need a reason... Everyone knows deep down they love Grand Canyon... so... accept it! boxing.gif
azri_apoc
my favorite map is same as Team Black Grassy Knoll and Cityscape. cool.gif
daTSchikinhed
mmm..

TS: Drawbridges.
I just like the way it plays. Allows for oppertunities.

FS: Cityscape
Just plain fun.
Crimsonum
Cliffs of insanity, Forest Fires, and Theme Park.

Cliffs of insanity is a true, open-for-tactics map. It has natural cliffs guarding and at the same time restricting the passages of your base. There's enough Tiberium, and the ion storms are a nice add. The layout is good, but unfortunately, like every other TS map, the terrain is repeating and too flat.

Forest Fires was my first favorite map ever. I loved the effect of burning woods. I always played Nod, placing artillery around the passages to enemys base, put in some Devil's to burn infantry in the woods, and tick tanks to cover up the artillery. The map is great simply because almost all of the bases have only one passage. You can tech, but you can be sieged and blocked too.

Theme Park. Surprises in corners. Do I have to say more? tongue.gif
Warlord
Tunnel Training - It's one of the very few maps that have tunnels, and well... I like tunnels. smile.gif And i also like it because it's even between the players.

Dueling Islands - It's a nice 1v1 map with a bridge and blue tiberium. I just like it because of that
Threve
Cityscape all the way. Urban fighting is always interesting in any game. Not to metion all the things this destory and how you can make city blocks into "Bases" with the civillain buildings still in them.

2nd 2 year bump in the same day?
Devastator
as lots of us do, I enjoy Grand Canyon
(I only enjoy it cus I don't bother choosing maps and its the first one)

FS Map:I'd say River Raid
A nice 8 player map, huge, trees, floaters, and large enough for my Ultra Truck (my mod) to not destroy everything quickly (even against my evil level 2 AI buildings 40 disruptors)

2nd 2 year bump...

Dev, please, read the post date before you post...

to be honest i don't think it matters if you bump a topic like this. Especially not if you haven't posted your input on it.
But that's just my opinion. All in all a bump really matters in what is being added to bump said topic. If it's pointless or just spam yea that's bad but if it re-opens the topic through adding another opinion/idea/question or whatever and can contribute like this recent one then it doesn't matter or so as I see it.

I can't remember what I voted in the poll about 2 years ago, but I like most WW maps.

Favourites.. There are quite many in the TS list (maps which I play often compared to the others):

- Tiberium Garden Redux (I like the meteor showers, the veinholes and the layout).
- Forest Fires (for the same reasons as Crimsonum, it was also my second favourite (Tiberium Garden Redux was the first))
- Stormy Valley (Yaraday removed my favourite snow map from the list confused.gif Anyway, I like the layout, the map is quite small and it's fun for a fast 6 player game.. it's only problem is the ice in some attacking routes which the AI doesn't understand)
- Tunnel Train-ing (I like the layout and the short-lived tiberium fields near the player starting locations, so the players have to expand their bases near the northern/southern tiberium fields. There are also many attacking routes to every base, and I love stationing artillery on the hills)
- Cliffs of Insanity, for the same reasons as Crimsonum.

Casey's Canyon could be in the list if it had more tiberium trees.

FS maps:

- Cityscape
- Narrow River, the layout is awesome and it's a fast paced 6-player map. I like how I'm always destroying one AI and then another AI decides to backstab me and I get owned.
- Nowhere to Run, don't really know why.. I can't remember the map well enough right now although I play it often.

Also, I usually like snow maps more than temperate maps, and I dislike Grand Canyon tongue.gif
The terrain is so undetailed there it looks ugly, and I don't like the layout either... and I also don't really care about 4 player maps (Tunnel Training is an exception). When I play TS, I play it in LAN with one or two friends and because we like having some AIs and long battles we always play either 6 or 8 player maps (and in LAN we can also put 8 players on a 6 player map wink.gif )

I don't really care about the bump, it gave me an opportunity to post this without bumping the topic wink1.gif
