Well, In the light of the recent topic HERE I decided to give ORCAcommander some help, teach him what I knew kind of thing. But then it hit me - Why not make it into a tutorial that the public can use too?

So I did.

This tut will cover basic editing of the TS GAME.exe and Language.dll.
Note that to tell you evereything would take forever, therefore it should be taken as a starting point, rather than a full database of knowlage. Once you have followed the steps in it it is up to you to use common sense and the basic rules Ive set down to help you.

This is my first tutorial on anything (ever), and is on a diffucult topic, so forgive any mistakes. It is in word because it contains images, and is easier for me to write offline.

Tutorial includes:

- Suggested programs for editing
- Changing file names that TS searches for
- Changing the drop-pod infantry
- A note about the tags and command line options in TS
- Editing the dialog boxes (adding text etc)
- Changing text in game, like loading screen text, SW charge text, "game over" text etc...
- Changing the IE message to one that shows the debug file (useless really, but looks nice!)
- Changing the EXE's cursor/Icon

And as of the 8th of july:
- Changing the menu text and colours for a new side colour
- Fixed most of the things TShyper mentioned

Maybe more in the future? If I add anything (upload a newer version), I will tell you.

I wonder, is it possible to make the game.exe read a third rules-like ini? I mean, in Ts we have rules.ini , in fs we got firestrm.ini which overwrites some stuff in rules ini. Is it possible to make a third one which overwrites the stuff in rules and firestrm inis, like firestrm does to rules? And of the same with art, theme etc...
