I discovered something interesting while messing with the Rules.ini and Firestrm.ini, some weapons and warheads have the "Bright=true or Bright=yes" for some reason with these on it causes ingame lag on modern day computers, a good example is when u destroy a laser fence post with a large laser fencing section it creates a whole lot of lag and it could get annoying to prevent this, simply set "Bright=false or Bright=no" to all weapons and warheads and it stops a lots of lag, though it may prevent some lag when u destroy something, it does not stop all the lag issues with the game on modern computers, i just thought this might be helpful. smile.gif

Several staff members of TI noticed this too.
However those like me for whom the ddraw.dll works, don't notice any lag at all. Even with 100 lights of the biggest size at the same time.

Yeah, it's a shame ddraw.dll isn't for everybody though, it works perfectly fine for you and I yet doesn't for the majority of the TI team.

For me it seems to cause reconnection errors while playing in LAN, but I rarely get any lag without it.

And this method removes some eye candy (terrain lights when shooting) from weapons.

Yeah, to me the terrain lighting from weapons i bearly notice anyway, Idc if i have to take those off to reduce lag, but the ddraw.dll dont work for me, my hope is in the Hyperpatch and the fixing of the waveclass issues =)
