How to fix random game crashes? No mods. Options

When I play on LAN running windows XP the game crashes all the time. It always says "Tiberian sun has encountered an error" and the game closes.

Im running Tiberian sun Firestorm with no mods.
I had patch 2.03 installed but it was happening a lot so I installed patch 2.04 and it still happens.
There are no mods. I have installed both of the games from the disks...

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

patch 2.04 ? Afaik is 2.03 the highest. Do you use The first decade?
Anyway, upload your except.txt here, so TSHyper can check it and tell you, what could have caused your crash.

Though i fear that it is the well known waveclass error, since you say that you have no mods installed. If it is this one, you have no chance to fix it, except changing down the detail level to 0 so the Laserglow is deactivated. But on Sonicbeams this doesn't helps.
