Heya guys, just finished my new map and is uploaded to filefront It's pretty much a desolate wasteland, with fairly frequent tiberian fiend and mutant attacks on the base. Linky: Filefront - spring of sorrowEnjoy (sorry about the linky, upload system still isn't working) I just realised something, before you play make sure all the triggers are set to repeating...otherwise things go wrong -DIAB Edited to make the link stand out more. =] ~daTS

Could someone post up a mini-map at least? It's actually alot of effort for me with my current situation with TS and FinalSun to get a full review, and I at least want to see a picture before I have to go through all that effort (I'm very lazy, yes).

This map is very nice actually. The lighting is quite nice, could be better though, but that's something that you learn over time. What I don't like, is the big and a bit blocky fona patches. Keep it up! You're actually closing up to a spotlight me thinks

I took a look at it in FinalSun, and I'd say the map looks really good, although I'm not too interested about 2 player maps. Again, awesome cliffwork. I actually think I have something to learn from it. I found some pavement errors from the cities. Like Crashking said, the use of fona patches could be improved. If the lighting is good and the mutants etc. aren't too annoying and you fix the pavement errors, this looks spotlight worthy

QUOTE (Carnotaurus @ Jan 5 2008, 12:42 PM) Sounds like an emo song. I'm drowning in the springs of sorrow... And it sounded more like it'd be a winter map, too. I swear carno every time you post in the mapping forum its usually some kind of complain. anyways I just took a look in finalsun. A real quick look at that. Well my main concerns would be: -balancing between players. IMO the left player seems a bit closer to that tiberium overgrowth area where he can then get more to harvest sooner. I would have tried to make that more centralized or made him have to go around more cliffs in order to get to it. -a certain thing to do with the bottom visible part of the map. If there is white nothingness above the blue line on the bottom then the blue line needs to be raised so that it is just above the white. It causes a weird error in maps. I can get a pic of it later I'm sure. -I think you can add tiberium around the mold growths. If you need an example look at one of my mutated maps. Doing that would also bring out the mold growth areas on the minimap. Overall based off of the quick finalsun look it seems you are experimenting more with things. Although I would give this about the same rating as your last map. However I have yet to play it in-game so that may change my opinion some.
