So I finished my first single player map today \ 0 /, it worked and I was happy. The idea behind it was that you were an outcast GDI commander who'd been a prisoner for a short while and had recently got away and enters on this mission as there is an evac unit waiting for him. However the area the mission takes place in is crawling with GDI forces which makes it a challenge getting him to the evac unit.

Mission success and I thought it was enjoyable, so it got me thinking, how about a campaign as a rebel GDI commander (and his forces) fighting to restore his honour and bring down GDI for outcasting him and of course having a pop at Nod because he just doesn't like them =) I had an idea with maybe an alliance with the forgotten or something cool like that, perhaps some forgotten units available for use.

Just wanted to see what you think, would it be worth it, or would it be a waste?

(On a side note, if you want the mission map just say so and i'l email to you, upload still not working unfortunately)

Since i only play Singleplayer missions (and some skirmish with AI enemys) i would really like to see a new Campaign. I also like your story. The only thing that bothers me is, how can the GDI Commander get his honor back by fighting against GDI?
I would rather like to see him fighting against Nod, but without the support of GDI. So he has to find new friends like the forgotten, you've already mentioned.

Some mission ideas:
1. You start with a chameleon spy on a map with a big GDI base and a big Nod base. Both fight against each other with lots of units. You have to infiltrate the GDI and Nod tech centre for the forgotten, which need some more intelligence information.
If this is done you win this map. The challenge is to avoid the battles of both enemys.
2. based upon idea 1 you'll start in same map after finishing map 1. You have now a forgotten MCV, but the GDI Base is almost destroyed, so not much help from them. The order is to defeat the Nod Base and rescue some forgotten, with which Nod did some tiberium experiments. You win this mission if all forgotten are rescued and at least one GDI building survived.
3. A mission where you have to take over a small Nod outpost to destroy a bigger Nod Base.
4. Recruit civilians. You only have a Tratos unit called e.g. "Commander" (the outcast GDI commander) and you have to find civilians in some small villages and recruit them for the forgotten. If you found them they walk to a tunnel (the players start position and the entrance for a forgotten bunker), go in and after a while some mutants come out renamed to "armed civilian".
The goal is to destroy a Nod Convoy coming after a certain time (a counter plays the time down) and capture some crates from the convoy Trucks.
5. You have to capture a GDI MCV with a Mutant Hijacker, but without alerting the GDI Base. Then build up a Base and destroy a Nod Base.
6. With a hijacker you have to capture a new prototype Banshee that has unlimited ammo. With the banshee you have to help a GDI outpost before it gets destroyed.

Heres my idea:

For like the final mission (or missions, can be two-part scenario), Southern Cross gets attacked by Nod. Nod sets up two really large bases with a few outposts . Southern Cross is heavily damaged and on the brink off falling to Nod, which would deal a devastating blow to GDI. You start in the south and need to build a base without GDI or Nod detecting you. After you set up your base, you need to capture a GDI outpost that has an Ion Cannon Uplink. You then need to use your forces to destroy the two large Nod Bases before all main structures in Southern Cross are destroyed. The map would need to be huge (I mean REALLY huge). Southern Cross is in the southwest corner. The Noddies have the northeast and north-centre. GDI and Nod outpost scatter the map (usually near tiberium, so it is hard to keep a steady cash flow). Near your starting position there are two small green tib fields and a blue tib field. The Forgotten have an outpost in the east-centre which if you can find the Forgotten help you out.

Just an idea

I definatly prefer the idea of fighting Nod, The GDI fighting part was a bit off the fly to be honest. I do have the escape map done, as in the original prisoner map perhaps the follow on from that would be allying yourself with the forgotten.

One idea I did have was capturing an "ion cannon control centre" which could be a massive base that controls the ion cannon, taking this over allows you to get free ion cannons in the later missions (perhaps that could be the 2nd from last mission so you only really benefit from it on the last mission.)

I really like some the ideas people are coming out with here, unfortunatly I may not be able to make it to exactly how I like it because my TS disc is form a company called sold out and XCC mixer doesn't like it so make it custom text triggers is impossible.

umm if you decide to have you vs nod and gdi how bout a full on three way battle but your base needs heavy repair and then you have to defend for 20 mins and you get new mcv and then you destroy both gdi and nod also you have to keep your firestorm gen alive throughout the entire map otherwise you fail its only an idea which is off the top of my head also its my first idea =P

It's not a bad idea, don't get me wrong, but there is the case of fun. If you're playing as a GDI Commander, will that team have new units, new buildings and infantry? etc. Or will this house be exactly the same as, GDI?

yes i saw this. And it's great to see my units being used.
But this is a mod with a campaign, not a standalone campaign done only with maps. A campaign with maps only is easier to use if you have already a mod installed. wink1.gif
btw, from where do you have the small brown civilian building on the right side in this screenshot? (the projects, archer asylum style building)
i would like to add this to my Civilian Building package

Oh, It's not. It's just a campaign. There is no Skirmish mode... So far. Hopefully, me and the team will be able to get the AI working correctly, so The Raven's maps are playable.

Edit: I Only just understood what you mean't.... It's still no big deal though, is it? pinch.gif

i've always like the idea of a CABAL splinter faction. basically cyborgs are mega-forgotten, so if the forgotten part of them broke through the mechanical conditioning. then this faction consisting of rogue CABAL cyborgs which are heavily mutated by tiberium could ally with the forgotten then they could rescue that guy and they could fight both GDI and NOD. that would be cool. especially if the corrupted CABAL cyborgs had infantry as harvesters and they had attacks that spread tiberium.

I don't plan on this being a mod and I don't plan having the rebel side as a new faction, it'll mainly be a lotting faction, whatever they have has been looted from other sides, also I have a plan to make them work with the mutants, so mutant soldiers will be available to control, basically just a bit of INI editing, not any new units.
