So I finished my first single player map today \ 0 /, it worked and I was happy. The idea behind it was that you were an outcast GDI commander who'd been a prisoner for a short while and had recently got away and enters on this mission as there is an evac unit waiting for him. However the area the mission takes place in is crawling with GDI forces which makes it a challenge getting him to the evac unit.
Mission success and I thought it was enjoyable, so it got me thinking, how about a campaign as a rebel GDI commander (and his forces) fighting to restore his honour and bring down GDI for outcasting him and of course having a pop at Nod because he just doesn't like them =) I had an idea with maybe an alliance with the forgotten or something cool like that, perhaps some forgotten units available for use.
Just wanted to see what you think, would it be worth it, or would it be a waste?
(On a side note, if you want the mission map just say so and i'l email to you, upload still not working unfortunately)

Since i only play Singleplayer missions (and some skirmish with AI enemys) i would really like to see a new Campaign. I also like your story. The only thing that bothers me is, how can the GDI Commander get his honor back by fighting against GDI? I would rather like to see him fighting against Nod, but without the support of GDI. So he has to find new friends like the forgotten, you've already mentioned.
Some mission ideas: 1. You start with a chameleon spy on a map with a big GDI base and a big Nod base. Both fight against each other with lots of units. You have to infiltrate the GDI and Nod tech centre for the forgotten, which need some more intelligence information. If this is done you win this map. The challenge is to avoid the battles of both enemys. 2. based upon idea 1 you'll start in same map after finishing map 1. You have now a forgotten MCV, but the GDI Base is almost destroyed, so not much help from them. The order is to defeat the Nod Base and rescue some forgotten, with which Nod did some tiberium experiments. You win this mission if all forgotten are rescued and at least one GDI building survived. 3. A mission where you have to take over a small Nod outpost to destroy a bigger Nod Base. 4. Recruit civilians. You only have a Tratos unit called e.g. "Commander" (the outcast GDI commander) and you have to find civilians in some small villages and recruit them for the forgotten. If you found them they walk to a tunnel (the players start position and the entrance for a forgotten bunker), go in and after a while some mutants come out renamed to "armed civilian". The goal is to destroy a Nod Convoy coming after a certain time (a counter plays the time down) and capture some crates from the convoy Trucks. 5. You have to capture a GDI MCV with a Mutant Hijacker, but without alerting the GDI Base. Then build up a Base and destroy a Nod Base. 6. With a hijacker you have to capture a new prototype Banshee that has unlimited ammo. With the banshee you have to help a GDI outpost before it gets destroyed.

QUOTE Since i only play Singleplayer missions (and some skirmish with AI enemys) i would really like to see a new Campaign. Did you see this? QUOTE Mission success and I thought it was enjoyable, so it got me thinking, how about a campaign as a rebel GDI commander It's not a bad idea, don't get me wrong, but there is the case of fun. If you're playing as a GDI Commander, will that team have new units, new buildings and infantry? etc. Or will this house be exactly the same as, GDI?

QUOTE (Aro @ Dec 13 2007, 02:48 PM) yes i saw this. And it's great to see my units being used. But this is a mod with a campaign, not a standalone campaign done only with maps. A campaign with maps only is easier to use if you have already a mod installed. btw, from where do you have the small brown civilian building on the right side in this screenshot? (the projects, archer asylum style building) i would like to add this to my Civilian Building package

QUOTE But this is a mod with a campaign, not a standalone campaign done only with maps. A campaign with maps only is easier to use if you have already a mod installed. Oh, It's not. It's just a campaign. There is no Skirmish mode... So far. Hopefully, me and the team will be able to get the AI working correctly, so The Raven's maps are playable. Edit: I Only just understood what you mean't.... It's still no big deal though, is it?
