QUOTE
I've been making this single-player map for a few days now, but it keeps getting errors and bugs all the time. I have "remade" it once, or in other words, made a fresh layout-only copy out of it.

The problem is, that NONE of the triggers in the map work properly. For example, there are two reinforcements triggers at the start for the player. One spawns an APC that brings in infantry, and the other spawns a pair of Titans. Well, the problem is, that the units should come from a tunnel in the north-west. They don't. They appear at the west-edge of the map. What's even worse is, that for no apparent reason, the trigger that spawns the Titans keep spawning the Titans again and again and again, and I think you can guess the outcome...

Second example is that a trigger that should move the camera to a selected waypoint locks the camera into the position it was before the trigger was activated, and you cannot move it, no matter what you do. Also, it fails to display a text message.

I have checked the triggers, task forces, scripts and teams many times, and I can't find problems in them. My conclusion is that since it's a map for a mod, the problems are caused by ini editing. Possible? You tell me, I've only edited rules, art, tutorial and _battle.inis.

Btw, I've removed mod-exclusive content from the map, but it still doesn't work properly!

Titan problem - You've more than likely made an error in the script, or, you've got the trigger set on repeat (2).

APC problem - I'm not too sure on this one, as I had a simmilar problem before... What i did was made the terrain a little bit less bumpy in the area they spawn in, and they seem to work perfectly fine.

I'm afraid I can't download the map to give it a proper analysis, due-to my where-abouts, at the present moment. roll.gif

Use 'reinforcement (team) @ [waypoint]' action - otherwise it'll spawn from the side of the map.

TB speaks the truth on the APC one. If you don't use that trigger action and just use the reinforcement one then they will come off the closest part of the specified edge to the waypoint thats in their team set up. The edge however is specified in the House set ups. Hence why it asks for the reinforcements thing in the house and you have choices of the different direction North, South, East, and West.

I also believe that Aro is correct about the Titan trigger being repeated. If its not that then I suggest doing what Dutchy Gamer told you to do on PPM which is to make the trigger deactivate itself after firing once.

I may look more into this later...especially if you are still having problems. It shouldn't be too hard since I have a SP in the works that I could just add similar triggers to and what not. smile.gif

The titan triggers weren't set on 'repeat' - in fact I didn't have a problem with the titans at all when I played it in the mission.. hmm.gif

Well I found out what was the problem with this one; The tag which set the Titans to appear at the edge of the map (btw thanks for the solution for this one smile.gif I didn't remember there were two additional reinforcement actions) was set in the Titan's team settings. I removed it, and the trigger immediately stopped repeating itself.

Also, I don't know what was wrong with the camera. It works fine now, and I forgot if I had changed anything in it lol.gif

EDIT: Oh right, I only set the speed lower, to 3 (it was 7), and it worked.

Thanks for the help smile.gif

I believe that reinforcements repeat if you select the tag in the teamtype..

Wasn't I the first one with this error? Or at least the first one to show a picture of it back on tumsun when I was creating Mutation Triad. Long time ago it seems lol. All of a sudden a few hundred loaded trucks came off the side of the map which turned into a few thousand and so on. lol.gif Imagine that in the Ultima Mod :O

I had that problem years ago and went to wagnerma being frustrated.

It seemd that I selected the tag in teamtypes tongue.gif Annoying small errors like that are hard to spot, but when you're done you think that the solution was closer than you knew.
