Hey all, still having problems uploading stuff, just doesn't seem to want to work for me =( I've tried uploading to filefront but they can be really slow, especially with things like TS, anyone willing to perhaps take my map (via e-mail or something) and upload it on my behalf?

Anyway the map's called eye of the storm, features ion storms, meteor storms and has capturable armories and hospitals, you can also capture the civilian array but not really worth capturing, also has a few trucks moving around delivering supplies.

Minimap:

Unfortunatly I can't upload any screenies, just the minimap.

download it here (linked to the one in Ixith's post below)

cheers,
-DIAB

Ok I received the map and took a quick look at it. It seems quite nice really. You used elevation change with the cliffs very well.
Anyways at the bottom of this post is the map. smile.gif

I can only ask if a moderator or someone would, if possible, take the download from this post and add it onto his first post so the dl is at the very top and to also move this to finished maps section.

I'll give a good thorough review later, however I am a bit busy right now with dinner. lol

I hate to bump my own thread but Filefront uploaded it finally and there's some proper screenies on there, please download and give some comments/criticism, I spent a fair while on this map and I feel it's been a bit wasted without any recognition.

(Deleted some posts, as they were distracting to the topic - no offense to anyone)

This map is excellent DIAB. The frequent meteor and ion storms certainly add an apocalyptic feeling.
The players are nicely spaced, with many well-placed small tib fields around. (Although I personally am AGAINST 3 player maps)

(this pic was taken during an ion storm)

The non-ion storm lighting though didn't quite catch my eye. I might've made it slightly yellower, to give the impression that an ion storm is about to strike.

The cliffs need work. They look very straight and organized. I think you'd be better off not using the "paint cliff" button, and instead making them with the cliffs in the "cliffs" in the terrain drop-down selector.

Some cliff errors:

I wouldn't give this a spotlight, but I think this map would make a good addition to the Massive Map Pack smile.gif

Cheers team black, not too fussed about the spotlight but so long as it was enjoyable that's fine with me =)

I have, since this map, stop using the cliff painting tool to get a more natural feel to the cliffs, also I'm aware of the many cliff errors, i'll get round to correcting them at some point.

Thanks!

I Wouldn't say spotlight. With a little bit more time, I could almost guarentee it. smile.gif Nice job, DIAB. wink2.gif

Ok sorry about the long wait DIAB but I played it and heres a quick overview of the things I saw.

-nice use of leveling of ground using the cliffs. (as in heights were used well)
-Cliffs were a little straight at times but you said you were or had been using the cliff tool thing. so those should be better soon.
-Some cliff errors here and there. If you are having any problems let me know and I will see what I can do to help.
-Some slope errors at some places. Be careful with slopes sometimes. Also I noticed a single tile difference with your VHMs. to fix this you have your level ground then you place your VHM and the take the tool that creates the 'hills' and have it make a 1X1 impression on the ground. That one is kinda hard to explain so I hope you got what I meant.
-Nice use of dirt roads.
-some nice moving vehicles.
-I personally thought the players on the right were a little closer to the VHM area than the player on the left which gives them a better advantage.
-Nice placement of small tiberium patches.
-nice lighting just more needs to be done with it.

Like I had said before on MSN it's a great map for starting out. I do believe you will get really good at mapping and receive a spotlight sometime in the future with your maps. smile.gif

Thanks for all the positive comment guys, was worth the wait =)

I do have another map in the works right now, but I got so frustrated scripting the train I've put it onto a back bench for now, also what with 6 exams in january, the pressure's on.
