Nice finds Lightstorm - exploding into goo? well, maybe tiberium & tib gas, I don't know how we'd get actual goo to come out of it (except in like, a death animation, then it'll dssapear)

Well wait a sec hmm.gif
if it's a vehicle, we could make it spawn a single debris that looks like goo, and stays for a long duration of time...

i mean when the unit dies in TW it just curls up. doesn't that back pod look like it should explode? i was thinking it would just be a death animation but it would leave tiberium where it exploded.

My impression of the scrin is that they make their own creatures, as fighting machines - genetic manipulation or something...

So whereas humans make technology, scrin actually use biology to make their army (crab mcv ftw)

what do you think about Irken ships?






beside of the color, i think the bug-like round design with some little changes and mixed with a more asymmetrical shape how lightstorm proposed it, could become some really good/evil Scrin ships.

okay its time for some new concepts!!



the first is know as the Hellbore, it has a central body that hovers with two large outrigger legs, the legs are thin because they don't actually support the weight of the unit, they just hold it steady while it fires. i thought of the scrin making a weapon like the primal but less dficicult to control, out of that came this thing. it fires a huge beam of energy into the ground saturating it, anything that enters the field is destroyed by the energy. the unit must deploy to fire and as long as it is deployed it will fire, there is no on/off switch.



next up is this vehicle. i was playing around with a scrin fighter design when i came up with this thing. and i think it looks just perfect for a Nod stealth fighter.
the small structure on the right is an idea for a scrin light base defense



this is a pair of units, on the left is the Gateway Engine, i don't know what it does yet but i'm thinking it will be like the soviet factory on YR,lowering the cost of units, it will do this by creating a more stable connection with the scrin mothership and allow cheaper and faster unit production.

the one on the right is a radar array i liked the idea of their array being like a big flower of some sort.



next we have one of my favorite ideas, the Echo Generator. this structure serves 2 purposes, the first is it will cause random lightning strikes to occur all over the map at intervals of about one minute. the second is to create "ghost units" these units don't actually exist and don't reveal the shroud/fog, all they are is dots on the minimap. so the opposing player would see a group of dots heading for his base and send out forces only to realize that they are fake and the real enemy is coming from the other direction.



lastly we have the Cerberus. it launches and 1 minute after the unit is launched it fires a terrain deforming beam that will remain active as long at the unit is alive. also as it fires it leaves a trail of tiberium in its wake. the unit would need to be fairly weak.

But this is something that don't work in TS. Lowering the cost isn't possible. Maybe you change the design to a Tiberium spread Factory, spreading new tiberium all over the time, that can be harvested. So you have easy access to new funds too.

The Radar is really cool. All of the petals could slowly turn to and fro about 10-45°.

cool idea. The lightning strikes should be possible, but i doubt that the "ghost units" can be done. Because we can't spawn (invisible) units from a building with a special mission, or affect what can be seen on the radar.
But what we can do, is giving it a weapon, that plays an animation of a group of Infantry at a certain point on the map. (The explosionanim is just a group-of-infantry-anim)
Another idea would be to use the Hunter/Seeker logic. If we make him move very slow (infantry speed), and give him the image of a group of Infantry, your initial idea could work, at least with one dot on the radar. But idk if the HunterSeeker supports facing specific animations (i doubt this).

idk if a weapon, that fires nonstop is possible (i doubt it). ok maybe with a looped-anim attached to the unit, that spawns particles that deform the ground.
But what happens, if the player forgots this unit in his base? The unit would start firing and then deforming all the terrain and destroying the base.
And the name should then be "Terraformer" or something like that.
