i get it now, its cool, howeve what if instead of that first door sliding open, what if it was some kind of energy barrier and the thing spun up and passed through it?

For scrin, I'm for portals. Fairly easy to animate, and they're already used in CNC3.

Flower petals would be nice, I guess, but I'm going for something kinda simple..
