I must say... I HATE the spam filter in hotmail.
It blocks my registration mails from sites like tiberiumweb
AND THEN it accepts all these .... inch, lose weight crap.
It sucks, why make a spam filter that blocks of important emails ? roll.gif

Well, What's the point making a spam filter that allows all crap in... won't say anymore there XD
and then putting registration emails into the junk yard ?

well its simple. People have different preferences on what crap/spam mail is. but In a lot of cases the junk/spam/crap mail that you are getting is from another person rather than some auto-registration thing such as the thing that sends the tibweb registration email out thus it gets put in the spam filter while the real crap from another mailer address gets to be allowed through.

I do believe you can easily change what gets allowed through and what doesnt get allowed through BTW. so yeah.

as for me i really dont care about the stupid thing. i hardly ever check my mail unless i know something important is going to be in there. but anything important to me is usually from my friends or family which if its really that important they could just call me or talk to me in person ya know.

Hotmail as a mail service sucks in general... better choices are out there, most notably and obviously GMail and Yahoo! Mail. I use Yahoo!, of course, and its spam filter is pretty efficient... but sometimes makes mistakes, sending some registration confirmation messages to my Bulk folder instead of the main mail folder, and vice versa with spam. But I never miss any clean e-mails, and I'm happy with that. biggrin.gif

I don't have problems with the hotmail spam filter.
And you wouldn't have eighter... IF YOU SET THE GOD DAMNED SETTINGS RIGHT!!!

The hotmail spam filter works at this way:
Everything wich is known is save, so clean.
Everything wich is unknown is not save, so SPAM...
If you set the settings so that it let all e-mails trough, you would recieve your registration mails.
If you get a SPAM mail, you just say it's unwanted, and it comes on the blacklist.
If any mail, send by the e-mail adress wich is on the blacklist, will be moved into the 'unwanted' folder in your hotmail account.
Just check that folder every week, then you won't miss anything. Or well, I don't know exactily the amount of days it will be in that folder.

So: I voted Good...

I have set a lot of e mails at the blacklist, it really doesn't help.
I just receive new ones.
many e mails daily.
Oh and: I have tried to adjust the setting, It doesn't really help to me.
So.... BAD!

Well I think hotmail is awesome, the reason registration mail ends up in the junk is because they are not made by a person but by a computer and hotmail blocks every computer generated message. Resulting in lesser spam if it didn't block them your entire inbox would have been filled with spam.

but it isn't the best service in the world
