I have to say, Retro is a very popular mod, but is it all that good? I recently downloaded it after seeing how popular it is (about bloody time!), and i was quite dissapointed for several reasons, but there are some good parts to it as well: 1. The Camoes are awesome, Smiff & the gang did a real good job on those 2. The redone voxels are really well done, they look very smooth, and have a similarity to the orinigals. BUT: 1. Some the maps are a real let down. Like WTF is TSR Crevasse? There is no mapping skill in this map. 2. There is some not covered in TSR, like the old tech centre and the dropship bay. 3. and there is some stuff which doens't really have its place in TSR, like the light tank and medium tank etc.
So why am i saying all of this? Because i was really let down by retro, and i wnat to do what retro hasn't.
Its called Tiberian Sun: Genesis

Remember that TS:Retro was created a VERY long time ago - it was one of the first sucessful mods to be created, along with TSTW. Many, many advancements have been made scince retro was released, so it's natural that it has become dated in terms of what we know about maooding compared to then. However, that does not make it a bad mod. Many current mods take inspiraition from TSR, and expand on concepts introduced in it. And the mod is still fun to play, which is the whole point really

Sorry, i dont think you could ever make something better that Retro. Retro, even though you say lacks, was more about someone actually getting up and doing it, other than saying "TS Beta was good, i hate EA" etc. You gotta stop looking at Retro from a modders point of view, play it to enjoy it, and see TS in a different light. If you cant do that, remove it, you loose. Creagor is right though, Tiberian Odyssey and Tiberian Sun : Recoil both take huge inspiration from Retro, it was the main reason we started Recoil way back, it was Retro but in the future BTW, WTF is "Tiberian Sun: Genesis"?

i agree with you all, TSHyper, the reason i put this up was because i want to make a better retro mod, because i was so dissapointed with retro. Tore, i like the light tank etc, but i think it is better as just civilian units, or like the mammoth tanks you find in solo mission which beco0me yours. Oh yeah, the mods called Tiberian Sun: Genesis. here is some work i did last night New Component Tower I'll upload damage frames soon, and i'm still working on the build up animation and snow variations. I got the idea from the TS manual: I also found the original (and only) dropship cameo Unforntunately it is greyscale, so can someone colour it for me please? (Maybe TSHyper, seeing his artwork skills rock) If i get some work done, will you support me? thanks.

First, use your edited SHP for the cameos, its not that hard, easily done in MS Paint. Im sure TB can give you a tutorial on MS Paint awesomeness ^_^
For the DropShip, hmm, im not good at coloring from scratch...

i tired to do camoes for twr1icon, twr2icon and twr3icon, but when i did them, green bits appeared when you clicked on the cameo in game :(. Can someone tell me how to sort this out? @TSHyper i mean this kind of title: but instead of firestorm, its genesis. I just wondering if anyone would let me use their maps, because my mapping skills are pretty basic.

Can you identify these units? To me it looks like a tick tank with double barrels, but what is the unit in the bootom-left corner?

Early designs for the Nod tick tank and artillery - if you look at the very very early screenshots, you'll see actual mammoth tanks given to Nod. Muldrake actually remade these Beta voxels already, and posted them on PPM
