my GDI disk has gone to pieces it was in my drive when i was just playing ts and then suddenly in my drive went CLANNNNNNNNNNNNN i opened it quickly and what did i find cry.gif the gdi disk.. gone to shreds..
i would much rather it have been my nod disk but the worst thing is some pieces got stuck inside so we might have to take the comp apart to look for those pieces so basicly i can't play ANY disk dry.gif
because if those pieces get into the comp then my comp is toasted so no playing ts for me sad.gif
but this also means no testing triggers on maps or mods furious.gif grrr furious.gif

anyone know a place i can still get ts?? huh.gif

If you live in the UK, try Amazon. If you search and search and can't find it. I could post you mine. I have The First Decade and have x2 of the original Toberian Sun thingy. It's a bit scratched, yeah, but it still runs.

Ps.
Try PC world. Last time i went, they had Tiberian Sun on the shelves.

Same thing happened to me not long ago. Its a right bugger when stuff breaks like that isnt it.

I got my new copy off ebay for £5, which is about $8-9.

Amazon.com FTW!

This is the 2nd incident of this I have heard about. If you got this disc in the edition that came in an orange box with RA2/YR and renegade we might be able to sue EA for selling defective CD's.

My disks are fine. And I still have the original disks from when I bought the game in '99!

Does any of you have a seriously high-speed CD-ROM drive (52x or above)? Heard those can cause problems. CD-ROMs (especially older ones) weren't designed for the speed they need to spin in 52x or above drives. Which is why 52x CD-ROM drives eventually weren't even sold anymore at some point. Think the max was like 48x or something.

I have only ever had one disk to pop in my drive. Star Trek: A Final Unity (disk1). I tossed the CD-ROM drive in the bin after that.

Besides. CD-ROMs and DVDs are all sold broken. They all have a big hole in the middle.

 I am simply amazed at how many disks have shredded. I never use mine though. I use gamedrive so I won't have to carry the disks with me and don't have to remember to bring them.

Yeah, both of my discs that broke broke in the same 52x CD-ROM drive. I got the CD-ROM drive to work again both times by just picking out the pieces of my discs (I even found back some pieces of my Nod disc when I was picking out the pieces of my GDI disc that just broke in the CD-ROM drive).

I'm aware of some 60-speed (I think there are actually some 70+-speed ones, but I'm not sure) CD-ROM drives scattered across the market... I wouldn't wanna know what happens to discs put in THOSE... *imagines the result being a fine, colorful mist shooting out the computer's side vents* >_> Well, I don't have that sort of problem, as all of the drives I have are 48-speed read or lower for CD-ROMs... although for some reason in the computer I normally use, when I put my Firestorm disc in, it sounds like the disc drive is trying to spin its way out of the tower (by that I mean it spins REALLY fast and makes a noise not unlike a Cessna with engine problems trying to take off from a dirt road)... lol... it only does this with the Firestorm disc, it spins much slower with all my other game discs, including my regular TS GDI and Nod discs... hmm...
