so yeah i was working on my SMMC map earlier doing trigger and i got bored so i wanted to work on another map......but i didnt feel like working on my other WIPs so.....i started a new one.

worked on it for probably around an hour and got A LOT of cliff work done.

the map will be a pretty cliffie 2 player map that is 70X70 in size and will feature some small urban areas in the middle and maybe some villages near the player start locations.

anyways all i have so far is a pic of the minimap for you but i think it should due for now smile.gif Attached Image

fine ill go out of my usual order and post a pic from final sun tongue.gif

anyways this area is pretty much the only area that i have detailed so far on the map and it doesnt even have the minor details that are to come.

also i know that in final sun there looks like there might be a cliff error on the right side of the pic but its not an error its just one of those bugs with finalsun.

anyways the pic shows a VERY cliffie area with a civi array in it......the civi array will have an importance ^_^
its kinda big but heres the pic anyways:

Unfortunatly i may have to drop out of SMMC cause i will not be able to complete it in time because of school so on so on... Anyway back on topic.
So Far it is not possible to be rated.
But Let me say this, The array area thing looks awesome.
I Try to do things like that but i never do it properly, Well done.
I will defenatly have a few games on this when it is ready.

@Nods Viper sucks that you have to drop out of the SMMC. oh well im sure there will be future SMMCs and i guess it also gives you more time to work on other stuff. i know how it is with school delaying map progress and what not.

@OrcaCommmander ill keep that in mind.

heres a little bit of what this map will be

-TS (will not require FS)
-cliffie area
-tiberium will be somewhat limited (as its a normal TS map so i cant put lots of mold which i usually put normal tiberium next to)
-somewhat urban area
-i will try and make a very dynamic lighting atmosphere
-i will try and include some nice triggers such as:
>day/night loop triggers
>maybe something to run off of locals
>moving vehicles? this is a maybe cause i want to see how the map looks before i decide on this for sure.
>something bigger than normal with the array there

i think the map name will be based off of stuff from my dreams which i am currently in the process of writing a story based off of. which BTW is also where Holixe River came from. there will be a collection of maps for awhile now that will hold names from that BTW. maybe when i finish my story i will post it here at tibweb. but anyways i will try and keep you guys updated as much as possible.

and i doubt i will make a FS version of this one tongue.gif

and about a little over 24 hours since i posted the topic to begin with i added a updated minimap below the first one to show progress.

so yeah check first post for new minimap and have fun tongue.gif

as you can see from it i have done a lot of detailing and kinda placed where i want the tiberium to be.
this area has had the effect of tiberium on it but not much yet. the area is starting to be turned into a desert like waste land and tiberium has slowly been making its path of destruction through the area. players will be somewhat limited to tiberium due to the lack of as many tiberium trees so strategy is much advised ^_^

anyways ill keep you informed as progress continues

*sighs* double post.......shoot me tongue.gif i need this to be more towards the top so people will comment on it.

anyways i got ingame today 2 times. first time my lighting sucked.......second time....it kicked ass except the fact that i forgot to edit the invis light values dry.gif but that will happen tomorow or some other time soon.

anyways i got 2 pics of the cool lighting (well cool IMO) both of the same area just ones during the "night" time and the other is more towards the "day" time of the day/night loops. dont mind the green lighting it wont be as bright and intense as it is in these pics if you see it. adding this in before the post......the lighting looks MUCH better ingame.......and without the blurryness of these damned thumbnails i think youll love it

use the trigger sequences that turn light posts off for the day and turn them on for the night.

well those lightings in those pics arent really the best to represent day and night lightings as the night probably get a bit darker than that and the day maybe a little lighter than that. i just took a comparison pic to give you all an idea i guess of the round about lighting and that there is at least a slight difference in the lighting.

also given the 2nd SMMC deadline extendment i could very well have this out by this weekend as i wont have to worry as much about my SMMC. i dont know yet though as TitanMarkII hasnt posted the exact date in which he is extending the deadline.

and i may add those triggers in for that but im not too sure yet......
on the topic of triggers........the on i REALLY wanted to go along with the civi array thing is one that i got mixed up.....i thought there was a trigger for the opposite of what the real one would do too but i thought wrong..... :confused: so that kinda hurt me there....but i will find away to make up for that.

another trigger thing..........does anyone know if there are any problems with the Reshroud map action? cause i tried using that but it didnt go off when it was suppose to and never did....oh well i may have another way around this......although more scary. :biggrin: i think itll work to.

anyways i have more pics for you but i wont be posting them until tomorow probably as i still have to convert them to PNG and stuff. ill probably also try to upload those to imageshack so we dont have to put up with the damned blurryness of the upload system here.

Never thought i would see the day...

Map reshroud?
There are no problems with that trigger i don't think.
I have used it before in one of my old maps in the archived forums..
Death march i think it was....

The way it worked for me was when ever the Nod radar was destroyed, the whole map would reshroud.
I am not entirely sure whether i made that trigger in the improved version in the map pack,
which of course was deleted dry.gif .

Or if it is on the original death march, it worked fine, feel free to have a look Ix.
If its on the D.M that got deleted, sorry... :confused:

meh well i went ahead and got 3 pics into PNG format for you guys and the final minimap. although im not gonna upload to imageshack this time.

anyways the trigger is set up as far as i know 100% correctly and is to go off when a certain building is destroyed......but i destroyed the building to test it and it didnt go dry.gif i made sure i placed it on the map and everything to.....i have yet to check it in wordpad though.

and yes i do have problems with mapping sometimes............especially with my other current WIP (the 4player lower in this section) as it is having SEVERAL problems that confuse the sh*t out of me as i KNOW they are set up correctly they just arent going off for some reason pinch.gif

........i feel stupid now.........i forgot to attach the trigger that reshrouds to the object i want to have destroyed and then reshroud rolleyes.gif ..........but there is a problem....and i havent went looking for the tut yet but i will as soon as i finish this post and thats how you attach 2 triggers to one object.....cause im going to need that.

also iv done some nice editing of some stuff. such as
-lighting....lighting overall is a little bit darker...night actually looks like night now IMO...seems to have a nice Apocalyptic feel to it too due to the nice red hue in the background and the darkness of it smile.gif
-tweaking of a few triggers for times
-added in the civillians and made the vehicles special house so the stupid AI doesnt waste their time on them.
-added in trees. (actually i did this last night after i got those pics)
-and changed something special....im sure you will find out during gameplay tongue.gif
hmmm i may have done something else i just cant remember right now.

i think you will have fun on this map. estimated release time....still possibly this weekend...depends i may have plans for this weekend.

thanks for the comments guys i think this map is almost finished just need to check a few things and maybe add a thing or 2.

and yeah i wouldnt really call those areas real cities but they use the city structures and are more urban than the villages.....maybe they can be considered the out skirts of the main city?

i couldnt find the tut anywhere on how to attach 2 triggers to a single object......im starting to doubt i ever did see it before........ill try one last place as i havent checked there yet......and thats wagnerma......i hope it is possible.....if not i will have to resort to something that doesnt work as well...meh oh well it gets the job done.

anyways yeah if i dont find it or if i do find it then id still expect this map this weekend if not tomorow......depends on what i decide later when i go ingame. smile.gif

EDIT: found the thing for 2 triggers for one object.......although it wasnt a tut......it was a question originally asked by dad-a-tude (ok i probably butchered his name if thats wrong tell me and ill fix it) and his question was exactly what i was wondering (literally) and was semi-answered.......like the person only told him that he thought it was possible with a serious of tags to triggers and that it was used on the last FS GDI mission somewhere......so i will have to try some things..although i think i already know what i have to do to make it work.....and im somewhat mad i didnt realize the simplicity of it sooner (if it really is as simple as i think its going to be)

once again double post........sorry i need someone who may know or people who have ideas.......

hmm.gif well im getting somewhat stuck on this 2 triggers to one object......i in a slight way refuse to look at the example for now as i want to figure it out myself but if i cant figure it out myself by mid day tomorrow then i will look at it and finish this up that way.

@Nods Viper your gonna have to wait to play it until probably late tomorrow tongue.gif and sorry but your idea unfortunately didnt work for this thing :confused:

however if you have any ideas about this then go ahead and leave your input. however be informed that i have done all of this
-tried it without locals and just attach the 2 triggers
-tried it with locals
-tried a few different events

im probably leaving some of the stuff that iv tried out but i dont care. i have gotten it to work once. HOWEVER that once was with an event i dont want to use cause it would never happen when i would want it to. (its when i had the thing on with elapsed time instead of destroyed by anything to test something else) so yeah i know its possible just hasnt worked when i want it destroyed dry.gif

anyways heres some more info on the map
map name= Cliffs of Asvetia (Asvetia will be a country next to Holixe in my story that i will be writing)
trigger info:
-day/night loops
-lamps are SUPPOSE to turn off and on as it goes through day and night as i attached the triggers and stuff.....didnt pay attention the last time i tested if they did or not though
-supply trucks come on the dirt roads through the villages........may be worth looking into BTW
-reveal map upon radar capture (and more if only the reshroud set up would work now to dry.gif )
-ermm.....i swear i had something else....cant remember lol.gif im not looking in final sun right now

anyways i think its a fun map.
also iv edited the crate attributes. like the chances of what youll get. ohmy.gif ....all you have to do is find out was it good or bad mwhahahahaha rolleyes.gif

like i said ill try and get this out by tomorrow night my time (EST) but no promises

It should work if you attach the object to one of the triggers. And then attach the other trigger to that trigger. But not the trigger that the object is attached to to the other trigger. else you could see in WW's maps
