I really need this thing, it's a SD card with USB input, so that you can put your External Hard Drive in it. Just to be clear, I need a SD card in wich you can PUT a USB Hard Drive IN, I do NOT need a SD card reading USB stick nor a SD card wich plugs into a USB port.

I would be really glad if someone would be able to find me one, as I have seen one but do not remember where it was...

It sounds like you are trying to add a usb hard drive to a palm pilot, mobile phone, or pda.

I am not sure if such a device actually exists.
I have googled for this, and the nearest solution I can think of is this.

use a sd wifi card (or internal wifi), and add a usb wifi adaptor
use a sd bluetooth card (or bluetooth wifi), and add a usb bluetooth adaptor

This is about the closest thing I could find to what you want.

Or, if you're good at soldering, perhaps you could build your own ?

add a usb port to this ?

And then we came.

It didn't take me long to figure out why you'd want something like that, unfortunately this is all I could find.

I have a hp2215 and when I first got it I was struck by the possibility of using a portable hard drive with it. However in looking at the cost I decided to wait for the next few waves of technology to bring the functionality to me. I ended up just going with a 2GB sd card which is actually plenty of memory. It seems that right now this is more trouble than its worth until PPCs include USB Host capabilities and a usb input.

Yes, well actually it is for my Nintendo Wii, and I just don't have enought space on SD cards. I need alot of room to put downloaded stuff on.

And how do those Bluetooth and Wi-fi storage work? Because it has to be automaticly ( I don't think you can do these with a Wii, because the Wii will not allow you to go inside the SD and configure things like Wi-fi)

It's just a shame that the Wii's USB ports don't accept Hard Disks.

Have you tried flash drives? Not sure which company it is, but there is a company that makes flash USB drives specifically for game consoles, maybe you could check that out?

I don't think so, the Wii has both USB and SD slots, but I don't think that if a Flash USB Stick is inserted into the USB Port that he will see it. Mostly because I think he only scans the SD bay for memory.

And about the Wi-Fi/bluetooth SD cards, is it only to make contact with for example the Internet or can I also manually connect it with my pc and let the SD card always connect to my pc's Hard Disk when my Wii is trying to connect to the SD card?

The Wi-Fi on the Wii is mostly used for internet access, since it doesn't come with an Ethernet port (stupid decision on Nintendo's part IMO), but I think it can communicate with a DS/DS Lite. But afaik you can't use the SD card slot for that type of connection, it just wouldn't work.

Well, that certainly is a bad decision from Nintendo, and I hope the USB ports will be fixed with a Firmware update. And else I will need to have someone make me one if it is possible. Else I need to buy for about €150,- on SD cards and have to switch them all the time...
