Well... you see... um confused! suicide.gif
Most of the missions before we're passed by 20 titans rush... and well - when I'll destroy the core - the Core Defender will come out - and for sure anihilate all of the titans... bicycle.gif

Quiestion:how to kill the damn thing? chair.gif

I guess E1 rush - but well... Cyborg reapers will slow down the mission...
I may try to destroy all before core... still - and other easyer choises?

As soon as the last engineer is into the last "defence outpost" then the firestorm wall (which is surrounding the whole CABAL core)will come down, thats when the core defender comes out and starts to walk down all the way to your base, where ever on the map....my suggestion....

20-35 Titans...built in preperation...

50 infantry, granadiers are good....it only kills one infantry at a time, good time wasting so you can kick its ass with Titans... w00t.gif
Just make sure that all other units are off the map, send in the last engineer at the last moment, with your army of Titans APC's at the ready behind the cliffs surrounding the core, let the cyborg come to you, save being blasted to hell by the core defences (obelisk).....defeat by surrounding him...with infantry and Titans, keep himj busy and get the Juggernaughts on him if you want!...

Take out the super obelisks by using juggers, then the core is yours! wink1.gif

No need to be embarrased, its a pretty hard mission, I had over 20 game saves, (although i was just playing around a bit)

Disruptors and the Mammoth MK2 can shoot through Firestorm walls. Coincidentally, they can also reach every building inside the wall. Not technically how you're supposed to do it, but it works.

aaah... i remember when i first got to that part, i thought i had it all nailed down and i was prepping for the ending cutscene when suddenly this enourmes monstrosity comes out of nowhere and destroys half my army in one minute. (and it was a big army) the first thing he hits is my main airbase, which conatines around 50-60 banshees. he levels THE WHOLE DAMN THING. In panic, i cloak whats left of my forces, but i know that will only slow him down. i sell what isnt completely necesary to the success of the mission, and build a massive army of rocket troopers. during the battle that ensues, my men drop like flys. when the core defender finally falls, there are only around 10 injured, weary soldiers left. but we won.

but at what cost?....

lol.gif

I lured the robot onto a bridge, blew up one end with bombers and blew up the other end with the Ion Cannon

I can't remember if it blew up the bridge in one hit or not so I may have redirected by bomber force to finish off the other end of the bridge

In any way I think I lost a few bombers but that was it

Apparently the robot can't swim

All you need is 13-15 disruptors to kill him.. its that easy. Once i made an army of 13-15 disruptors, like 30 titans and like 20 juggers and over 40 orcabombers, the disruptors killed him before the orcas even arrived.

There's a force trigger to deploy the Defender when the Core is yay damaged...as well as EMPED...Firestorm genorator destroyed...all 4 power plants destroyed...or, if you want to do it the RIGHT way, capture all the control stations rolleyes.gif

Me I never capture the stations, I go bottom left with hovers carryalls and drop in some infantry (or bottom right with limpets/subapcs if your NOD) , then go top right to stop thos friggin air strikes.

diz do better than titans in MO, about 20 probably will do, led by a mammoth (dont friendly-fire). That many diz should make short work of mr. robot....then again I havent played that in a while.

...Or if you want it easy do TS Retro, SMIFFGIG gave the core Defender a reload time, he shoots like 3 shots then reloads for 5 hours, it makes him a big freakin wuss. :dissapointed:

no that's not embarrassing.. what's embarrasing is that I've never actually completed the firestorm campaign.. i just got too bored.

I think I've played the Nod campaign in Firestorm... once heh

I really like the GDI campaign, although it does seem a bit easy... and I'm no good at making AI's

Ya Gufu trust on this one, it's not embarrassing in the least. We all got our asses handed to us during this mission, even the ones of us that knew it was coming. Best thing to do is take out the bridge while it's on it, by far the greatest tactic for stopping power rushes when available...

ha the first time i played the last mission the core defender jacked all my mini bases from where he is to my main base. when i figured he was destroying all of those i made a back up base and destroyed the bridge to it. although i ended up not needing it because i destroyed it with air attacks and a lot of other miscellaneous units i had lying about.

but from then on i just pwned him from air as soon as he was released. id just have LOTS of air units ready to in and a good number of ground units for back up.

lol @daTS iv finished all of the TS/FS campaigns at least twice because they really arent that hard. i liked some of campaign ideas and maps in FS though. if you really want a challenge go get the Covert Operations for TD some of those missions were incredibly hard. (although they didnt take me long to figure out. probably my favorite was the Nod one where you have a base but your still screwed because your base is surrounded by big forces of GDI units and GDI keeps air striking you every so often.)

so yeah just use lots of disrupters and if that doesnt work carpet bomb the tin can with banshees or orca bombers wink1.gif

There should be a patch of earth that the APC's can surface at, it has to be quick, a drop ship comes in within about 5 seconds...but thats how I did it! ^_^

Me? I suck at Firestorm! I mean, sure, I can do TS campaings in 1 day, but FS? Hell, I got jammed in 4th GDI mission and like..... 5th or 4th mission of Nod... It's the mission where you need to steal the EVA unit

The kill tratos mission isn't hard...just do what it says--use limpets to attach to truck and hover patrols to scout, then send your sub APCs around to capture the gdi base little by little...
take out yer 6 power plants and get tratos when the FSD shuts down...

Well - GDI missions are too easy - all you have to do is put enough pavement to keep subteranian APC's out. After that - 20-30 titan force(20 althought is enough) Then rush the bastard, take no prisoners, and beat the mission...
Quiestion - how come I seen CABAL on the mission 7:Factory recall he had light infantry? Only 2 of em - but still? How in the hell he got em?
And I also really enjoyed Dogma day Afternoon(After I learned how to kill veinholes tongue.gif). Oherwise I just waiting to get ready to begin the fighting with that thing...

He most likely got them from a destroyed building or vehicle.
It's a pity the default infantry (E1) for a certain side can't be changed...

I took it out with 20 ORCAB's and 5 Cluster missile and Ion Strikes each. in the end it was 3 Jump jets that killed him. Because I had destroyed the bridge on the left the defender sat around doing nothing right. weird glitch huh? so in th end my 3 jumpsters killed him. Then I pummelled the core with 15 ORCAB's and 20 fighters.

i cant exactly remember how i defeated it the first time but i ussually take over every building so i probably had lots of units built up by that time.
but for THE EASIEST way to defeat it is make sure you can build the obelisk of light, then build them all around the firestorm wall. right as the firestorm goes down the core defender will be dead before it gets all the way up. it was damn HILLARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
