Ok. I simply want to know how I should set up the missions for the mission/campaign selector?

The 2 choices are:
-Like a normal Campaign set up. (this is where you see a campaign title and you click it and play missions 1. Once beaten you play Mission 2 and so on. Just like how the normal TS missions are set up.)
-Like TD: Covert Ops in which EACH mission is given and you can choose to play any right from the selector

Thats what I would like to know. So vote in the poll and give me your reason why you think that!

if you have a story behind the missions, then make them like a campaign.
If they work independent from each other, then TD covert ops like.

btw, how do you want to make it work like in covert ops? Do you edit the exe and add a new menu for the missions?

Each mission has an independent story from the others. Like the TD Covert Ops missions.

I believe I could make it work kinda like the way in covert ops by editing the battle.ini and have each mission as its own 'campaign' thus each mission would appear in the Single Player campaign selector thing. Thus You could have the main normal TS campaigns and below them would be my missions in the Mission selector.

I remember playing the old Spy005 campaigns (at least I think it was his campaigns..mighta been someone else so correct me if I'm wrong) Return of CABAL and also The Never Ending War, in which If I remember correctly The Never Ending War you were able to choose which mission you wanted to play. So if I need to go re-find those and download them and play them/look at how he did some of the things I can. smile.gif Though I never really liked those campaigns. He reused many of the WW SP maps.

in this case i would recommend to make small campaigns and add only the first mission of each campaign. Else it could become unclear if you have too many single missions there. In addition do many people imo already expect a campaign and not only a single mission in this menu.

It would be nice to have the missions connected, and when you are finished then you can select the missions you want after you finished the missions.

Since the missions aren't connected to eachother with a storyline, I think it'd be better to show each mission in the list. Then we could select which mission we want to play, and if I don't like some missions I don't have to play them to play the others.

Btw, how are you going to pack up this mod? As a single expandXX.mix file?

I am not sure if that is possible. However, I think LKO's idea of mini-campaigns might be a good one. So instead of 1 mission per things or all of them per thing. It would be like 3 Missions per thing. This would be to make sure the Mission Selector doesn't get too clutter of course. (though it does have a scroller I believe if needed)

Yea that's part of the reason behind why I wanted to do them like the TD Covert Ops in a way.
As for your question, I will most likely be packing it into a single expandXX.mix file like you said. Less files to mess around with for installation, the better I thinks.

But yea. I think LKO's idea there about mini-campaigns might be a good idea. The size will probably range from 2-4 Missions per choice. Once I get several maps for each side then I may perhaps categorize them by difficulty or style of mission, with their respective sides of course.

I like the Covert-Ops method. If someone wanted to play them in order (if they have an order) they can, but an idividual one can be selected as well, which I prefer.

play once through the campaign and make a savegame for each mission. This way you can load your favorite too.

Imo it's something different if they automatically switch to the next mission or you have to choose the next one.
As a campaign you can make savegames and this way have single missions too, but not vice versa.

In addition is there some kind of goal if you have a campaign. With single missions the time you play is much shorter imo.
