Well I've made it up to Switzerland now, and I can't seem to be able to do anything. I get swarmed with shielded tripods ( only about a dozen) and those devastator warships (also shielded), and no matter what I do I just can't seem to be able to hold them off.

Any tips?

P.S. Yes, I'm still playing on the normal difficulty pinch.gif

That's the one with the big crater in the center right?
Anyways, spam defences, Missile Squads and Zone Troopers. Also, build 4 airfields with only Firehawks. Buy all the neccisary upgrades, and bomb the sh*t out of them tongue.gif
Also, some Sniper/Juggernaught combos are very usefull...

Well it almost worked, but any infantry, be it Zone Trooper or Missile Squad, are extremely weak against the Devastator's weapons. In fact, if they send 5 of them (shielded), they can wipe out any mass of Missile Squads you build up, and destroy your airfields before you can actually destroy them with Firehawks. Couple that with a few shielded Tripods, Seeker tanks and Gun Walkers arriving the moment the base defences are destroyed, it seems that the infantry build-up strategy does not work. Thanks anyway.

Anybody else have any suggestions?

Yes I remember, after I got my ass kicked with the infantry buildup, I made a wall of Guardian turrets and then built 5 airfields of Firehawks, keeping any alien warships at bay. Then built 5 Juggernauts and used snipers to spot targets for them. So once again, thanks Dutchygamer! The Juggernauts came in very good use. I never thought to use them.

When I played that map, I still had version 1.0 of the game, and a bad pc... The game crashed when I moved my army of 30 Juggernaught tongue.gif Still, I really must re-play the GDI campaign sometime lol.gif

I hope I'm thinking of the right mission lol.gif

Well, I don't know if your still having trouble with this or not, but what I did was spam tanks and pitbulls and rush to get as many AA turrets up as I could. The AA turrets are really good at taking out air units (Scrin or not), which allowed me more freedom in taking out the ground units. What you want to do is put as much AA as you can along the border of your base and spread out as well. The Scrin air units do that AoE damage which just simply ain't good. I guess put some sporadic AT turrets/Chaingun turrets up here to keep random units off your harvesters but you need to keep popping out tanks/pitbulls. Once you feel secure enough then you can start on an offensive attack with mammoths and stuff. What also helps is getting those AA missile equipped Firehawks - about eight should be good - to take out some of the long ranged scrin aircraft. Otherwise, you'll keep losing valuable resources on pitbulls when you send them out to kill the buggers. I played this map on Hard if your wondering about its usefulness. My tactic requires a bit of micromanaging though, just a heads up, especially against Scrin infantry. I didn't bother with riflemen because they would just get mauled when Scrin air units would show up, so I just ran over the Scrin infantry with the tanks and/or let the Chaingun turrets clean them up for me. I just found that the main thing of this mission was defending until you could get on your feet because your drastically outgunned for the crucial part of the match.

I'd probably have to replay the mission to remember what exactly I did, but I told you what I could remember

But if you've already beaten the mission then good job thumbup1.gif
