TiberiumWeb.org Community Forums _ Maps _ Shakar's Tiberium Farmlands

Posted by: Shakar Mar 15 2008, 01:21 PM

Hello once again fellow DTA mod players. As you may know, I once had a map called Tiberium Overgrowth in the making... Sadly, I lost the data to it and I didn't feel like remaking it. Now, I'm working on another map called Tiberium Farmlands. It's in desert terrain for the mod, but only because I wanted it to be =P

In it, I have placed a few goodies that will attract attention... Mainly (So far...) four things. Two renamed civilian units and two renamed buildings... Literally... You will see them all in the two screenies from the editor that I cooked up, and here they are.

A village that is in need of food, as well as the "Palace". One of the civilians are named hehe.

Desert Farms Inc., the leading food supplier in the region, with it's many farmers.

There's a few things I need to work out as I go along, one being the river terrain near the first village so far... It looks fine in the editor, but it's blocky in game ;(

And there's also the "armed" civilians and farmers... Still wondering if I should leave them armed or not. But ya, this is my new map announcement for the mod, even if I plan on having it a four player non-symetric map.

It looks...bland. Also, the fields are for temperate maps only, so you're using a wrong tileset.

Well there is farming on mine =P So deal with it, I'm putting bodies of water near the villages and farm areas on my map, which is looking pretty good so far. It'll be a four player map, good for NVS matches or EVW matches... It'll have plenty of Tiberium for all players (Hopefully) when it's finished. I'll make a prieview of the compleated map as soon as it's finished. My map may be the first one done for the mod, from what I see here. Not including the ones included with the game =P

EDIT: Added picture of another village ^_^

At the current moment, the map layout is almost complete. It's simpliler then it looks. What I must place on it now are trees, rocks, and tiberium. And maybe even more land scape.

That's no Palace.. that's the old Westwood Studios building.

I KNOW this is a bump, but since there are no new topics and assuming it's still being worked on, I think it's fair I post.

The fields aren't exactly made to fit the sand terrain, I think tehre may be fields for desert theme, but I'm not sure.

The fields are only for the temperate (grass) theater.

the only civilian buildings that can be used in both temperate and desert in C&C1 are the Oil Tanker and the Oil Pump:

I've been delayed on my map due to school and work and other problems... It's still being worked on, but just because certian buildings normally don't appear in the certian tileset, doesn't mean I wasn't allowed to use it in the editor included with DTA. I was using my imagination, and I have corrected myself a while back that so far two people are doing maps for DTA, which are Warlord and myself, unless others are doing it secretly. And I know the Westwood Stock Exchange building there isn't a palace, but still, I am using my imagination with this map and using the powers that TS provides with it's INI editing for maps. Atleast I thought gaming was supposed to be fun with your imagination being used for the ones that allow you to make stuff, so I'm making this map based on my imagination and my design. Atleast be happy I'm doing that while I work on it.

Westwood Stock Exchange? wtf... that was one of the joke buldings in TS. This is an ACTUAL representation of what the original Westwood studios building looked like.

I know the TD Westwood building is a SHP replica of the original building, but please, can you stop getting on my case about what to use/not to use on my map? I'm doing this for my own fun, and with my own creativity to my own map in progress.
