Hello,

I got back into C&C mapping after quite a long time, so I searched the web to get into it again and soon found this forum, which is quite great! I watched the board for a while but nothing was posted, so I decided to register anyway and here I am.

I also wish to share my new mission to get some opinion. I have done some maps in the past, but never did I release one in the Internet.

It's called "Dikan's Revenge", because I plan to do a bunch of missions or perhaps even a GDI mission tree (perhaps NOD tree, too), but to get started I did one mission to begin with. Who or what "Dikan" is will be part of the story which will be done later wink1.gif
Since I could not figure any good name for that mission I just put "Demo Mission" there.

Briefing:
NOD has captured a team of GDI engineers. You are out to rescue them.
Command your squad to get to the engineers before they are executed. Also, clear
the area of all NOD forces. Good luck!

I would be glad if someone tries my mission and gives me response.

Before anyone starts complaining I herebey post some additional info for the mission and also pictures.

Map Size: 29x28
Theater: Desert
Side: GDI

Difficulty: Medium to Hard
(if you find it too easy, you can make it MUCH harder by decreasing the timer in the Trigger "XXXX" and/or remove the Trigger "rnf3")

You can play this mission via Covert Ops. Extract and copy the files SCG59EA.INI and SCG59EA.BIN to your C&C dir and then you can start it from the "New Missions" menu. If such filenames already exist, change the number 59 in the filenames to a free number.
If needed I could upload a savegame for C&C95 to start the mission without Covert Ops installed. Please ask if this is the case. If you have Covert Ops installed, but don't like to switch CDs, you can force C&C to accept either the NOD or GDI cd for it by attaching the argument " -cdX:" to your C&C commandline, where X: is to be replaced by your CD drive letter. Note there is no space between the cd and the letter, this is no typo).

I'm quite sure every modern Windows system can still run TD or RA1 (Windows 95 versions). Just follow the usual steps which are to be found on diverse websites aroun the net. Usually involves replacing of DLL files and/or enabling "Compatibility Mode".

If you have Windows Vista and this really does not work on Vista (which I don't believe, but I don't know), I would consider a parallel installation of Windows XP - or just dump Vista completely, XP is better anyway, as long as you don't need DX10. wink1.gif

If all this does not help you could still run the DOS version of TD and also RA1 (it has two EXE files, one for DOS, one for Windows) using the DOSbox emulator. However, the cripplingly low resolution kinda sucks.
