Okay, so I couldn't help but notice that there's a factions area in the rules file. Question is, back in the past when using TibEd, I tired editing it there. It didn't work. Sometimes I managed to enable the Mutants faction without the game crashing, but nothing spawned.

And now we have a conondrum. I want to do a mod something none (if few) other TS modders have considered (or bravely gone ahead to do), marrying the old Base Building/Resource Collection systems of TS with the Class style gameplay of a certain fail game a few months ago. Now before people go off to light their pitchforks, get the oil and light their torches for suggesting such a change, the core mechanics were still intended to be Tiberian Sun's resource gathering and base building systems - there are no Crawlers and the faction arsenals are reletively the same, but a little bit differant. If I get things to work that is.

But enough of that. Essentially, I'm thinking I can probably make a New Faction by cloning and renaming an older faction. Would this work around the whole crashing thing? Or would I be making an even bigger issue?

Welcome to Tiberiumweb! wink1.gif

Tiberian Sun has limited support for more than two sides. There are some things you can't change at all, like EVA voice etc. You also have to sacrifice game options like additional starting units and Short Game.

However, if you're interested, here's a basic tutorial for adding more sides: http://www.tiberiumweb.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9

Bookmarked. I'll take a look at it tomorrow, it's a bit late now.

Glad to see me discussing C&C 4 like mechanics hasn't bought out the torches and pitchforks...yet.
