TiberiumWeb.org Community Forums _ TD Discussion _ Some topic I renamed

Posted by: Ionizer Sep 24 2010, 10:33 PM

I created this because I have been seeing people going off topic. Aro split some off topic TD chat from his forum.
I found some TD discussion in the Red Alert thread.

Discuss TD here and to the moderators, merge all off topic posts related to TD and move them here. It would be appreciated.

What the hell.

This is the TD FORUM. Technically ALL RA related stuff is off topic.

Most of the Tiberium universe posts there also contain discussion about RA.. roll.gif

So if you do that you'll just make a mess of the entire topic.

Yep there have been two RA threads over the past two weeks.

we don't really have an overwhelming supply of topics in this forum as to where consolidation of these topics would be either necessary or helpful.

Sorry Ionizer, but what is it with you creating discussion topics without any reason? You are no mod so don't act like you are one.
Creating Posts/Topics simply for the sake of activity aren't useful too. This isn't reviving Tibweb too, which isn't dead in the first place.

Also the mods here know perfectly well, what their responsibilities are. There is no need to tell them what to do. Especially since things like merging topics aren't possible.

As I have said in the Tibweb thread, I have changed and don't really care about activity. Maybe I was acting like a mod because I run a great running forum. (No it's not the forum for my Star Wars mod) I learned quite a bit about being an admin. I know you guys aren't going to find that a good excuse but it's been a little overwhelming at some other communites. I don't want to order the mods around, but could you guys delete this and forget this thread ever exsisted just to avoid problems for me, and all of you? And LKO, I hadn't created the Red Alert thread for activity. I only created it so members could have a thread to make off-topic posts about the Red Alert series. Also aren't you the one who replies to topic bumps saying "Please don't bump topics." That is a mod's job.
@LKO:Go to your profile, I left you an apologetic comment.

Please everybody, I don't want to cause any threats to the forum. sad.gif

We can make the mods' job easier just by telling other members about rules which they are violating. However, creating a topic about splitting a topic.. you could just PM the moderators if you feel something is wrong. Also:

Well maybe I overreacted about the LKO doing a mod's job. Maybe the small bit of backseat moderating here is okay.

easy there guy, we're always open to suggestions - just as long as you're still OK if we were to say no.

Keep in mind also, people of reputation like LKO are totally allowed and encouraged to help the new guys learn the rules..
We might not be the largest online community, but I'll be darned if I've seen one more welcoming, capable, and close-knit as tibweb.

@LKO it's actually possible to merge topics here, though sometimes it could be messy as it organizes the posts from both topics chronologically.

I did give Bittah and DvD suggestions so yeah they have said no before.

LKO is five-star as well as you too Team Black so I guess it is okay. But I don't think LKO should do what I did - which he wouldn't.

True dat. If we talk about all statistics of this forum, tibweb wins across the board. I find it funny that the moderators here are friendly and usually, moderators aren't meant to be nice. Just about every member here has a good heart so yeah that was a compliment to just about everybody.

Even brotherhood23 has a good heart. He's just young is all whereas most members here are between 15-25 years old. The youngest are probably 10 or 11.

I do however have one suggestion to the moderators. I think these posts since ^Rampastein's last post should be split (or does it get merged)into the Tibweb Thread.

While the stars might give some insight, they don't tell much. I've had 5 stars since I had only a few dozen posts and two/three map releases.

However things like post count and quality, experience, other members' respect, join date, helpfulness etc. count too. LKO is one of the oldest, most respected and experienced members here. It's usually easy to notice these things after reading only a few of a member's posts and checking his/her profile.
