The map files must have a specific file name. GDI missions are scgxxea. Nod missions are scbxxea. Multiplayer maps are scmxxea. Jurassic maps are scjxxea. if you have a map with a number lower than 50 it may overwrite one of the default maps.

(X is representing a number between 0 and 99)

You must code the AI on every map you make....

Well anything up to 15 (13 for Nod) is in the campaign. Starting from 20 they show up in the Covert Ops list. To check out exactly which ones are used in the Covert Ops list, look at the C&C Mission Making Manual I made:
http://cnc2sw.planetcnc.gamespy.com/stuff/ccmanual.txt

QUOTE
The available numbers are:
- For GDI: 20, 21, 24..35, 42, 49, 51..98
- For Nod: 22..29, 34, 36, 38..98
(99 doesn't work. I tested it)

This text file is also amazingly handy for AI testing, though it's more a full list of all possibilities and the general syntax than a tutorial on how to use each and every one of them. To learn how to use them, I gladly refer you to the original C&C missions.
