http://www.commandandconquer.com/cnc4/pressrelease.html, that Command & Conquer 4 is indeed in development at EA Los Angeles and will be ready for shipping sometime next year! C&C4 will supposedly reveal the "epic conclusion" to the almost 15 year old Tiberium Saga that began way back in 1995. The sad news though, this will be the last Command & Conquer game, ever.

QUOTE
"Command & Conquer is a powerful franchise with an amazing 15-year legacy. We are thrilled to bring the dramatic Tiberium saga to a conclusion in Command & Conquer 4. This game is designed to give fans all the answers they've been looking for."
-Mike Glosecki, Lead Producer of Command & Conquer 4 at EA Los Angeles.

In the press release, EA breifly explains of the new innovations we can expect to see and play with, such as new class-based gameplay, mobile bases and persistent player progression throughout all game modes. We also get a very first look at the storyline EA will be using.

QUOTE
The story of Command & Conquer 4 takes place after the events of the critically acclaimed Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars™. The year is 2062 and humanity is at the brink of extinction. With only six years left until the mysterious crystalline structure Tiberium renders the earth entirely uninhabitable, the two opposing factions - Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod - inevitably find themselves in desperation for the same cause: to stop Tiberium from extinguishing mankind.

July 24th, will be a huge day for us C&C fans. What can we expect? A new episode of BattleCast™ PrimeTime where we will be given an even more in-depth look at the game that will be Command & Conquer 4. Also the very first C&C4 trailer will be released on their website. Additionally, the same trailer will also air the night before (July 23rd) on Spike TV on the show Gametrailers TV.

All in 1 mobile bases?

Goodbye C&C. sad.gif

In this Epic conclusion, EALA has decided to pull stupid unthinkable things just to rap up everything.

QUOTE
The unthinkable becomes reality and Nod's enigmatic leader Kane takes off for GDI headquarters. What is Kane planning in the heart of his enemies' base? Command & Conquer 4 draws the epic conclusion to the beloved Tiberium universe, where fans will learn the fate of Earth, Nod, Tiberium, GDI and most importantly, Kane's motivations behind his decade-long plan.

What is he gonna say when he arrives, "Hey guys, sorry for everything, you know, the 3 wars, and the whole Philadelphia thing, plus the "lets spread tiberium, it's our future" thing I did.

Agreed. At least for me base building has always been very important in C&C, and now EA is taking it away.

This is bound to crash and burn, time to set fire the EA studio, I'll get my flamethrower.

Oh yeah, I've got a nickname for CNC4, CNC Tiberium Dung.

Edit: OOH, I got another one, CNC Tiberium Turd

that may just be a better ending than this new Epic conclusion to The tiberian/tiberium saga

Nice to see they are concluding the series although it would be real sad if they stick to a single base system. Base building has always been a major part of C&C... rolleyes.gif

Yay! Another C&C that is going to lag crazy on my computer! tongue.gif

Well imo this one looks quite promising.. But EA once again make it sound like it is gods gift which I think we all know it isn't going to be.

Meh, I'm not interested in the new C&C games EA make. I don't consider the EA storylines (C&C3, RA3 and C&C4) to be the "real" storylines, as they are being developed by a completely different team than the one that worked on the first few games. Besides, the plot got royally screwed up by the blokes at EA when they made C&C3 and RA3. The only thing I cared about was Tiberium, because they might have made a multiplayer mode similar to Renegade's. But that one unfortunately got canceled...
