- No random map generator is because of all the new features, if you were able to randomly generate a map if wouldn't function so it HAD to be removed.
- I don't know how you managed to work out that Goliath's are useless and Eclipse tanks are OP when the Goliath is better than the Eclipse...
- Earthquake emitter is supposed to be used on structures, not units.
- You'll have to be a bit more accurate as to where you've found cliff errors (if you actually have) rather than just saying they're there. 100 odd maps is a lot to go through...
- Alarm sounds are indeed annoying, they'll be changed.
- Radar Scan Drone issue is known and has been since Public Beta 1.

We, the Twisted Insurrection team are very pleased to announce that our latest version, Public Beta 4 has been released!

Since the Re-Issue of Public Beta 3, we have been working hard to get more of the essentials out of the way. The changelog is also very large and impressive due-to the short amount of time (In my opinion, at least) since the last release, you can view the changelog here!

Public Beta 4 includes several new campaign missions (A total of 8 GDI Missions and 13 Nod missions (8 and 9 are palceholder maps) so far), several new units and unit images, new additions to our unique soundtrack, new voices, options, several new and improved maps, coding and balance changes, gameplay improvements, tons of lag reduction, the implementation of Naval units (still in heavily testing phases at the moment) and much more!
Public Beta 4 is our most stable version to date as we have eradicated the source of the most common internal errors and hopefully we wont be seeing any more again (or for a long time at best). Online play is now much simpler to commence now too thanks to the new Twisted Insurrection launcher feature similar to the one used by one of our affiliate projects, The Dawn of the Tiberium Age (which we also reccomend you check out if you loved classic Tiberian Dawn!). Sadly as it is still beta, there are still several placeholder images being used, but this will not effect the game-play at all! Pretty soon we hope to get everything finished and finally come out of beta.
One of our new staff members, Henskelion, is working on CGI & FMV's for future Twisted Insurrection releases which will be available as soon as posisble.

If you are new to Twisted Insurrection, check out our website for more information!

Note: There will be no Public Beta 5, only patches up to this point thanks to the Launcher feature making this easier. The next release will be Twisted Insurrection 1.0. There will be a big patch update based on Public Feedback around Xmas time, as is our tradition.

Enjoy, ladies and gentlemen. We'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

I recommend using DDRAW.dll with Twisted Insurrection, it does not work for everybody, however. If you try using DDRAW.dll and you get a black screen, it is not compatible with your computer. DDRAW.dll is not a requirement to play Twisted Insurrection, but a suggestion. DDRAW.dll is inluded in Public Beta 3, if you encounter a black screen or any other strange problems, delete DDRAW.dll and try again.

Keep In Mind: This is a Public Beta and not a final release, therefore not everything is completed and many placeholder images are still being used. Do NOT point out placeholders and obvious temporary issues.

Download Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 3!

Before Playing Twisted Insurrection, I highly recommend you skim through the Draft Players manual.

You are forbidden to use any assets from Twisted Insurrection in any public mod.

We're not quite finished here yet.
With the launch of Public Beta 3, we are also pleased to re-announce the Twisted Insurrection Mapping Competition!

The rules are simple and easy to follow, but it's suggested that you read through the Twisted Insurrection: Mappers Guide before you attempt to start on a map. Here is a summary of the map competition rules:

1 - Only One map per entrant.
2 - Map remakes from any C&C game are allowed, but they must be remade from scratch, not just modified versions of the originals.
3 - If you post any previews of your maps anywhere before the competition deadline, you will be disqualified and your map will be marked as void and will not be judged in the competition.
4 - You may modify your submission after you have submitted it, but be sure to get the new submission to me (Aro) on time.
5 - Entries must be submitted to Aro (Me) via Private Message by the 25th of January 2012 (00:00 GMT)
6 - Twisted Insurrection staff members may also enter the competition

The best maps and winning maps will be included in Twisted Insurrection as an official map selection. The top 3 winners will also receive a Twisted Insurrection banner/signature by default.

Hello Twisted Insurrection fans, staff, lovers, haters etc.

It has just came to my attention that I have reached over 10,000 posts over on Project Perfect Mod. Not a big deal of course, but since it's sort of traditional with some TI staff members to post a TI asset every time they reach a certain number of posts, I thought I'd do the same, however, rather than posting something Staff Forum secluded, I thought I'd share a bit with the public instead. So here are a couple of new images for you to enjoy, which vary from remastered maps, scenery, civilian structures, new voxels and some more promotional sketches.

(Click on the thumbnails to view the images in actual size)

Some of these images have been recently posted on ModDB, but for those of you that don't check ModDB, here they are.

The Statue of Liberty is of course a heavily modified version of the Red Alert 2 structure, it has been converted for a special map purpose along with a good use in the campaign. The World Trade Center may also be remastered and used in the TI campaign!
The new voxel images you see contain the following Twisted Dawn units: Ratel-20 APC, SSM Launcher, GDI Chinook and Nod Chinook, all of which were made by the talented ErastusMercy. There is also the new Orca Carry-all made by our own Shin.Peter.Pan which has recently been posted on our forums, you can check out this work of art here.

I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to keep your eyes open and on Twisted Insurrection. There is plenty more to come in the very near-future. A new Trailer is in progress and Pubic Beta 3 is already shaping up very well with old assets being remastered, new ones being added and many bug and game-play fixes. Oh, and for those of you that don't get the topic title reference. Here you go.

Twisted Insurrection will never die!

Carry-All (Cost : 800) : Carry-All's have the ability to transport one vehicle of any type and size at a time anywhere with extremely high speeds. Though these massive aircraft are able to carry vehicles larger than themselves, they are very fragile and can only sustain a very small amount of damage.

Requires: Helipad

Hello everyone. First of all, I'd like to apologize for lack of output in the Twisted Insurrection public sections recently. The main reason behind this is due-to myself having some severe technical issues with both of my computers, primarily, the one I use for modding. With these issues in mind, I am unable to continue my normal work-flow on Twisted Insurrection and I have hit a progression stand-still until my computer(s) are repaired, which hopefully wont be too far off from now.

I am here to assure you, just because you are not seeing a lot of activity in the Twisted Insurrection public sections, it does not mean that the mod is in any circumstance dead or at a stand-still, progression has just been slower from my side of the fence and it will all pick up again soon. Even so, the rest of the staff have been working hard during my absense creating various things such as additional Twisted Dawn voxels, GDI Aircraft, Nod Structures, Promotional Sketches and new Maps. I am unable to show you everything at this current moment, so for this update to have a bit of a brighter spot in it, I will introduce you to the newest member of the Twisted Insurrection team: Swirekster.

Swirekster is a talented artist whom has created many promotional sketches for Twisted Insurrection as well as concept art and potential FMV (In-game movie) material. Here are a couple of previews of his Twisted Insurrection work:

(Click on the images to view larger versions)

Another update will come once I am able to mod properly once again showing off much of the all-new in-game material and completed TI sections. For now, I will leave you with this new Twisted Insurrection gameplay video which was also put together by Swirekster. This video is simply a walk-through of Nod Mission 2 which can be viewed in High Quality. Enjoy.

EVErgrowing Infestation: As the thorn infestation spread along with Tiberium to the Chimero area, GloboTech immediately evacuated the area and begun the cleanup operation; Something went horribly wrong though, and now there is only ruins and uninhabitable wastelands. The area is still occasionally scouted for any signs of ability to support life for possible recolonization, but the hopes are dim.

Hello everyone. I've wanted to host a Mapping Competition again for a while, but wanted to do something different rather than standard Tiberian Sun or Red Alert 2 mapping, so Crimsonum suggested I host a Twisted Insurrection Mapping Competition, so I'm going to go forward with the idea.

Rules:

1 - Only One map per entrant.
2 - Map remakes from any C&C game are allowed, but they must be remade from scratch, not just modified versions of the originals.
3 - If you post any previews of your maps anywhere before the competition deadline, you will be disqualified and your map will be marked as void and will not be judged in the competition.
4 - You may modify your submission after you have submitted it, but be sure to get the new submission to me (Aro) on time.
5 - Entries must be submitted to Aro (Me) via Private Message by the 22nd of March 2011 (00:00 GMT)
6 - You are not allowed to use the Interior Terrain.
7 - Symmetrical maps are allowed, but will hurt your layout score.
8 - Twisted Insurrection staff members are not allowed to enter the competition.

Judging:

Judging will be done by Aro (Me), Q45, Crimsonum, [TiberianFuture] and ^Rampastein.

You will be judged on:

- Map Detail
- Map Layout
- Map Lighting (10 points for Invisible Light Posts & 10 points for Global Lighting)
- General Gameplay on your submission
- Triggers

Will be out of 100 points, based on the criteria listed just above.

- 20 points for Detail
- 20 points for Layout
- 20 points for Lighting
- 20 points for Game play
- 20 points for Triggers.

Detailing points will be mostly based on how you use the new terrain additions as well as the standard mapping tiles. Also remember that lighting is split in two, you will receive a maximum of 10 points for your Global lighting and a maximum of 10 points for your use of invisible light posts, this is also important for the judges to remember.

You can download Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 2 here which comes with Final TI (TI's map editor). I also highly recommend that you read through the Twisted Insurrection: Mappers Guide before starting on your map.

Prizes:

The best maps will be made official Twisted Insurrection maps. By default, the first, second and third place winners will each receive a TI Mapping Competition signature/banner. The winner(s) may get an early copy of Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 3.

Good luck to everybody whom decides to enter, we're looking forward to seeing your creativity.

Hello everyone. I have announced the first official Twisted Insurrection: Mapping Competition.

The best maps and winning maps will be included in Twisted Insurrection as an official map selection. The top 3 winners will also receive a Twisted Insurrection banner/signature by default. You may also be able to hold of an early copy of Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 3 as a main prize.

As you are all aware last month we released Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 2 to keep you entertained whilst we push ever-closer to the Twisted Insurrection finishing line, and we are catching up to that line very quickly.
Contrary to what you may see in the public sections, there is always a lot going on behind the scenes, be it in the Staff Forums or on our desktops. Recently plenty of different jobs have been getting done and ticked off of our to-do-list. For example, the long awaited Nod Challenge 01 is finally complete and will be included in the next Public Patch / Release, and so will many new campaign missions.

(Click on the images to view them in actual size)

Alongside much of the campaign and mapping work, Including the new multiplayer maps Pentagram Redux (2-4), Sigma City (2-4), Between a Rock... (2-3) and Tournament Island (2-4)* there has been a lot of terrain, building and voxel work going on too. Many of you may of already seen the new Nod S.A.M. Bunker, but for those of you who haven't, here is a look of the second most power anti-aircraft defense structure in the game.

*: Tournament Island (2-4) is not shown publicly as of yet, but is complete.

And as mentioned above, plenty of voxel work has been done on both old and new voxels. The Twisted Dawn vehicles are extremely close to completion, there are only 3 units missing (Chinook, SSM Launcher and Apache), two of which are already close to completion. These units will all appear in the Nod and GDI campaigns during the older time period and flashback missions. These fantastic voxels were put together by Twisted Insurrection's leading Voxel Artist, ErastusMercy, and the Beautifully made M.C.V. and Harvester were put together by another one of our voxel artists, Shin.Peter.Pan. Here is a preview of the Twisted Dawn units together. Note that the Nod Artillery will be resized.

And there is much, much more to be shown, such as new GDI structures, new terrain and civilian features, Interior Theater additions and some work in Progress maps and campaign missions, all of which will be revealed in due time. Campaign missions however will not be shown publicly in order to prevent spoilers and walk-throughs, you will have to explore the campaign yourself.

Twisted Insurrection will never die!

S.A.M. Bunker: These powerful anti-aircraft defense structures fire out multiple heat-seeking projectiles at once making short work of most enemy aircraft. Whilst very effective, these Bunkers are a heavy drain on the Brotherhood of Nod's power source and take up more space than any other basic defence structure.

Cost: 1250
Primary: Heat-Seeking Missiles
Requires: Radar

Sigma City: When civilians began fleeing en-masse from areas where tiberium was taking hold, Globotech reacted to this by building cities in some of the cleanest areas left on the planet; one of these early developments was Sigma city.

Built in a largely forested area in central Europe, Sigma city has thrived since the first foundations were laid, into coveted metroplois under the protection of Globotech, naturally there are some sources of tiberium, however these areas are small enough to be contained, controlled and researched. To be a civilian living in Sigma is to live in luxury and without fear from the horrors that plague most of the planet.
