though IMO they people should have their rights to name the kid whatever the hell they want to even if its incredibly stupid.

Well, I agree that someone should be able to name their kid whatever they want

But they're throwing their kid to the wolves by naming their child something like 4real

There's really no one else to put a stopper on ridiculous names, save the government. Why can't people just choose from the bajillion million real names out there?

They're always trying to push the system, till a line must be drawn - always forcing grey areas made into black & white ones.
If people would just try and cooperate more, we'd be so much happier.
People are like, "O noes, the government told us we can't name our kid something stupid! tomorrow it'll be 1984!"

I remember a Swedish family were blocked from naming their baby girl Metallica once. Why did nobody get involved with Frank Zappa's children, though? Moon Unit, Dweezil, Ahmet Emuukha Rodan and Diva Thin Muffin Pigeen aren't exactly names that roll off the tongue.

I'm not going to give my kids common names but at least they ARE names.
for a girl it will be:
Aelita
Naia
or Fiona

for a boy
Alaric
or Andrew

but i agree at some point you've got to step in and say: No, your not naming your kid Alpha119er he'll be scarred for life.

well I guess if you named your kid something derogatory like "Stupid", or something that would make the kid feel stupid, it would be put under the category of child abuse, therefore it would kinda be right for the government to come in and say, "Look, you can't name your kid L33t Haxorz"

But then on the other hand, you'd probably have the group that would call some normal names stupid- and throw a fit over it being "child abuse" because they are petty complainers by nature..

I could see the government then getting a great gigantic list together of acceptable names to name kids, so that there aren't further complaints on the matter.

I'm kinda applying this to a bigger picture, since cases such as this seem to be getting common -
If people would just act rational and stop complaining, we wouldn't have these kinds of problems. but people like to push these grey areas until someone has to draw a line
