But then you would lose your war factory because the flying vehicle gets stuck on the lip. Would it be possible to make a special war factory, like a helipad, that you build the flying apc from? If that is possible, then you could just remake the helipads from TS for both teams, and then re-set the build requirements for the aircraft, and that should solve the problem? Right?
EDIT.
Or, you could make a special air craft that has hover jets (im getting a bit hopefull here...) or some kind of rotors, like the NOD/GDI transport or carry-all that I saw on PPM (http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?highlight=vtol&t=14563). And, couldn't you just set the flying vehicle to build off the helipad instead of the war factory?

Using the jump jet locomotor prevents that problem.. did you read the first post?

VehicleTypes can only be build from the War Factory, just like AircraftTypes can only be built from a helipad. VehicleType and AircraftType both support different logics in the game, but the best one to use for air transport, is the VehicleType - only buildable through a war factory..

I believe I already mentioned having a sparate war factory for flying-vehicles, using the same technique we use for making a Naval yard in TS
(basically, making a dummy house for just the naval units, so the game thinks it's a "captured" war factory)

Sorry for the 2 year bump, but I realized that JJ aircraft can't use aux sounds, making it a bit awkward when a dropship takes off silently, oh yeah there's no landing or takeoff effect either, is there any way to bring those back in any shape or form?

it would be interesting to hear from Hyper if the aux sounds are bound to the AircraftTypes class or maybe to the locomotor or something else which could be used on VehicleTypes too.

However i think that working hva anims on flying units are a quite good compensation for the missing sound effects. At least you could create special voice sounds with an engine sound in the background.
