The patch is now available to download from the TW online autopatcher.

also here http://www.commandandconquer.com/community...es/default.aspx

and here http://forums.ea.com/mboards/thread.jspa?s...dID=232400&

Unsuprisingly the servers seem to have crashed thought so I would recommend waiting a while before you start downloading.

(mine has failed 4 times now)

Edit:- spelling and DD link added.
Edit 2:- I'm going to keep adding links as damn server is dead. I may even upload a zip of the patch when i get a working one.

EA after all kept their promise about the normal mouse system, pity I uninstalled the game.

Pity, this patch makes it balanced and play like it should of at release.

Stop constantly trolling, the switching two buttons around isn't a big deal. Did you never consider that it made things easier?

I wouldn't call it easier, because for certain things it was the opposite. In all C&C's before C&C3, the left mouse button was the "action" button, while the right mouse button was the "cancel" button. In C&C3, when you're ordering units around, the right mouse button is the action button when a unit is selected, while the left mouse button is the action button when no unit is select; it's what you need to select a unit in the first place.

I honestly really don't see how switching those buttons makes things easier; it rather confuses I'd say (and yes, that might partly be because I'm used to the "left mouse-click interface", but why change something people are used to when it doesn't improve anything?).

You can select units then repair/sell and then right click and you'll still be in control of your units. That's why it's useful.

EDIT: I also don't see the issue in being used to the LMB interface, virtually every other RTS game has used the TW method thinking back to Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, Ground Control and others. I haven't played it but I think Starcraft is the same.

Then why wouldn't EA leave it like the orginal mode with that sell\repair thing? That'd be good!

Well, in all previous C&C's all units were deselected right when you'd place a building or switch to repair/sell/power/waypoint mode... This isn't the case in C&C3 and it doesn't really have anything to do with the LMB or RMB interface.

personally I'm skeptical about this patch, the only way i could ever win was to base crawl and you can't do that now. plus the loss of expansion points makes your base crunched up and the perfect target for SWs. this wouldn't be an issue if you could toggle on/off SW but you can't.

Left click system doesn't work on the minimap, and it tries to select bridges when you want to move units on them. Aside from those 2 bugs, I'm glad there is a left click system. I just hope they tweak those 2 problems.
