I like both this way, and the way we see Freedom Studios Forums does this, you can determy your custom rank by editing it in your profile, simple and fun.

I prefer it this way. I have longed for the rank "Wing Commander" but I feel I should earn it. not just go into my profile and type what ever I want.

As in, at 1000 you can choose you own custom rank (through profile options or somthing), or at 1000 you are deemed "worthy" of having a custom rank made by the admins?

And also, does the display name changer work now?

At 1000 posts you get the rank of Forum Veteran and you will have to option to choose your own rank (as in, type it in)

I'm not sure if the name changer works, why don't you test it tongue.gif

Just did, and yes it does work. The fact that you can only change it twice everey so often is a good idea too, as it will stop too much messing around with it.

I also like the custom rank idea, as Xenus said, it adds greater diversity. And can make you look cooler.
