This is made after an actual vehicle - Some years ago, probably back in 2000, my dad bought a bus, and made it into something like a Museum-on-wheels, to use for his work. He tours around to elementary schools and daycares, and does live animal shows for them.
Why he made it look like a caboose, I'm not sure.
In its prime, this bus has been to something like 38 different states in the US - traveled from coast to coast, the Pacific to the Atlantic, Minnesota in the north, and New Mexico in the South.
It's been the home of many wild animals - snakes, lizards, tarantulas, ducks, turtles, rabbits, iguanas, ferrets, hedgehogs, and some other random critters.
it's also housed probably a few million insects on display, as my dad is into entomology and
bug-collecting.
It was one of the first vehicles I ever drove, and it was a freakin stick shift! (it was only around a parking lot though, so only a few people got run over)
(sketch I made in 2003)
Where is this bus now? Well, for the past year or two it's been parked in Dumfries, VA, at a place called Dumfries Self Storage, where I worked last summer doing maintainance for em.
google maps(satellite pic)
It's been been sitting there, under the elements, and was even broken into at some point, because the frekin manager wasn't keeping an eye on the lot like she should
It's slowly falling apart, the wood is starting to rot, the cupilo leaks water when it rains, its value is all but spent. Probably waiting till my dad forgets to pay the rent, then they'll tow it off to who knows where
He has a new bus now, which I helped him take the seats out of when he bought it back in back in 2003.
He says it's nearing completion, but I haven't seen it since that pic was taken, when me and my dad pulled out the seats. (I don't exactly see my dad alot
)
He came into town the other day, and I showed off some of my voxels with him - he said he'd pay me to make a voxel of his bus, so he could use pics of it to promote his shows or something.
So, I made this for him, e-mailed it, and now I have to make an "Invoice", so he could file it as a company expense XD
Then I'll be waiting for a check in the mail
