Hey, after a LONG time, I'm back, biggrin.gif

Anyways, I tried playing TS+FS TFD edition again on my XP, and it won't startup.
When I tried on my Vista, it says "TS has stopped working"...
I have no mods, and latest TFD patch.

PS
When I installed my RA2+YR TFD edition on my vista, it says, "String table failed to initialize", or someting similar. Works fine on my XP.

Welcome back.

Does it throw any error messages? If it does, what does the error say?
Does the splash screen appear?

If you're using a HIPS application (for example, Comodo or Kaspersky) make sure that they are allowing Game.exe to start.

Right-click on Game.exe and select "Run as Administrator". If it doesn't help, try disabling User Account Control and see if it works.

If it still doesn't work, in what phase does the error message appear? In the splash screen or while it's initializing (you see a black screen in the initializing stage).

I can only offer the same advice as with TS; Right-click on Game(md).exe and select "Run as Administrator". If it doesn't help, try disabling User Account Control and see if it works. I haven't played RA2 for 1½ years so I don't know exactly what the error means, but a quick search at ModEnc tells that it's unable to load Ra2.csf (it's string table).

1. Well, I don't remember if ther're any error messages but, I do remember the splash shows up.

2. The error shows up when I'm still on my desktop.

3. I try it out...

PS
I don't recall seeing you here before ^Rampastein, are you a veteran here?

I've been an active mapper/modder here since Nov 2007.. so, I do not consider myself as a veteran, nor as a newb.

Try out those suggestions and tell the results, in Vista the intrusive User Account Control is often the cause of the problem.

I remember now, my TS won't startup when I had ETS installed; did they fix the problem?

you need to run TFD on Administrator if you have vista turning of user account control didn't work for me but setting tiberium sun to always run as admin has fixed the errors as the game now has access to the system files. for xp i have never had any problems biggrin.gif
