Things are looking hopeful for this expansion!

I was beginning to think CNC was a dead in the hands of EA, but things are looking MUCH brighter after reading these articles..
from the looks of things, they're going all out to meet our demands, bringing it right back from TS with the original style costumes, and explaining all about CABAL and the tacitus. Time will tell though if EA will live up to their promises...

There's also some interesting screenshots in here for ya as well smile.gif

Interesting quotes:

QUOTE (Mike Verdu)
"The Tacitus played a role in C&C 3, but it's really central to the third chapter in the expansion pack," explains Verdu. "It has a lot of importance that ties in with the fact that there's a huge warp portal sitting on Earth after the events of C&C 3 and it appears to be a gateway to other star systems and the Tacitus is somehow bound up in the mystery of the Scrin, the portal, and Kane's mission to ascend."

QUOTE
You'll play the role of Kane's right hand man in the re-forging of Nod into the powerhouse that eventually rises up to nearly annihilate GDI at the beginning of the Third Tiberium War.
-Return of Slavik? probably not :( ...
QUOTE
You'll play an entirely new commander and be Kane's new right-hand when playing as NOD.

Nice! xD

Good to see that they will be clearing up a few things for us fans biggrin.gif

Nice pic here:

GDI get Helicopters! O.O

Just noticed this new selection system, looks horrible IMO. The heli's look nice, not sure if they should be around in the year 2050, but i guess they could be... they kinda kill the Orca aspect of GDI though :(

Okay, first of all, use full stops and new sentences. wink1.gif And second of all yes its an APC but deployed (dont know why). Yeah, none of the units look the same as in TS, the sonic tank looks OK, but i think it was just an excuse to put hover tanks in the expansion...

The radial interface is for the 360 version only. I think it's a good concept, radial interfaces are always referenced as being very intuitive and easy to use but they're rarely implemented, the only application I can think of is in The Sims.

One of the articles says it deploys into a permanent bunker. An interesting idea, but I'm not sure how practical it'll really be hmm.gif

About as practical as GDI's foxholes. wink1.gif

DO NOT turn it into another flame EA or WW topic. I'm sick of that.

Do i have to remind you that you were the one who created most of the EA flame topics and ruined other topics by whining about how evil EA is?

IMO the units look good, and i like the bunker idea but i would of have liked it more as a mobile stealth generator. I still dont like the sonic hover's though, it is almost impossible to break through GDI's sonic emitters and now theyr giving them mobile sonic emitters? If they wont lower the damage they will be too strong, like the turrets are overpowered now. Playing Nod theres almost nothing against them, first thing that pops up are venoms but then they bring out theyr pitbulls, bang bang, venoms down. next thing would be sonic beams, but they are too weak and they can only hit about 3 meters away from the turret, if you push it to the limit, and again you cant defend the tanks from pitbulls hit and run tactics. Then seeing as nothing is left you could think that youll just rush em, but rushing is the worst idea, if they have a decent number of turrets your tanks will be dead before you even reach them!

Several posts have been removed. Hint: It is advised to use the words 'dumb' or 'stupid' when you think something is.. well, stupid.

Ontopic: This looks like the biggest expansion pack to the CnC series ever. I hope they don't fuck it up though. (Points at the helicopters with rotors...)

The bunker apc looks like it can pack a punch, pretty cool. I wish GDI could have atleast one more mech added to their arsenal.

Posted by: CrashKing Aug 26 2007, 01:07 PM

The selection system is practical IMO, it's a lot easier that way on a console.

Yuri's Revenge was the bigegst expansion pack, simply by sheer numbers - one whole new factions, new units, three new terrain types, 14 new missions and much more.

This...won't have a new faction in. Feh. Ugly selection system, ugly helicopters, ugly mammoth tanks (still hate them). Love the APC that deploys into bunker idea.
