Hey.

Right, when you order a unit to deploy, they always seem to respong with "Deploying!", which is all well and good, however, in my mod, there is a Cyborg unit that deploys, and I don't want it to respong in a human voice if it's a cyborg, y'know?

How do i prevent one certain unit from responding to the deploy command?

Hehe, finally made an account here too.
Anyways, the only way to change that, is to change
CODE
DeploySound=27-I002
to
CODE
DeploySound=

But then you have the problem that no unit responds to the deploying order. And IIRC, you can't have 1 unit have a diffirent deploying order voice (which is bad)...

Cheers. The no responce is better than the human responce... I'll have a look to see if i can find out if it's possible to add a new deploying responce. tongue.gif
(I've not modded TS voiceovers before, so I know very little about it)

Of course. When i made Aro's Rules for RA2. I managed to create new UnitReady sounds and new UnitDeath sounds. I'll see if i can use the same trick in this situation. But i'm not going to try it until later on. biggrin.gif

Could you not use Report=*** on the deploying animation itself in art.ini. That way you could specify a different sound for every unit if you so desired.

yes bump, but you can add the keys DeploySound and UndeploySound to your deployed unit (the building) and have this way unit specific response/deploy sounds

Then just change DeploySound=27-I002 to DeploySound= as described above to avoid doubled sounds.

But then you won't have the respond when you press 'D', only when the deploying begins. Still, good find thumbup.gif

in german the unit says "abtastung läuft" what means "scanning in progress" and this fits to the mobile sensor array only. So no problem for me if it doesn't says anything at all, because i have more than just a deploable sensor array. wink1.gif
I also moved this to the deploysound of the sensor array what makes it even more fitting imo.

In this case BuildingSlam=PLACE2 and BuildingDrop=PLACE2 should both have PLACE2 removed.

Though there's one problem. Walls and placed buildings use both the BuildingSlam sound. So if you want building specific deploysounds you have to accept that the walls can't have a placing sound anymore. Because they don't have a buildup nor can they use a buildupanim or deploysound.

\EDIT
Another problem or maybe even feature is, that you can hear the buildupsounds of the enemy if you applied deploysounds direct on each building.
