I made this unit, originally in GDI scheme, I was trying to make both sides engineers different; by giving GDI's engineer a gun, but it failed, that engineer would capture any building it could attack. So instead I gave it a neutral, full remap color and turned it into a new technician.

These are the frames that I added:

i think its the TS engineer recolored, but in a that good way that it isnt recognizable from the first sight.
So i say wow. really well done.
and i think its useful as a well protected soldier with a higher armor. or some kind of arctic infantry.
or a field sapper that can deploy small mines. (to have an explanation for his backpack)

Thanks. Yes, it is a recolored engineer with some extra frames in which I gave him a weapon.
I used him like more thougher looking technician because I disliked the original TS one; although it was originally meant to be a combat engineer for GDI, but you can't have a fully working armed engineer in TS.

Looks very good... Though it's a bit odd he's firing his weapon with his left hand, considering most people are right handed.

Yeah, I didn't really noticed it until you pointed it, but anyways he is holding his suitcase with his right hand, so I used the other hand.

Well it gives the unit something special, being the only left-handed infantry in TS lol.gif

Also there are several well-known games with left-handed infantry, like warcraft 3's left-handed footmen rolleyes.gif

lol.gif Opened Warcraft III World Editor, and started counting left-handed units.... Wow! the modeler must have been left-handed!!. At least 11 buildable units lol.gif, mmm specially human units :biggrin:

I'm thinking to make a new jumpjet infantry, not a replacement, instead some sort of commando tongue.gif

That is the reason I made him, I've always disliked how TS technicians looked, being in highly dangerous facilities during battle or comming out of destroyed vehicles, and yet, wearing just normal clothes; it seemed quite wrong.

I can fix so he's right handed if you wan't to... like mirroring it in photoshop or somthing...

That would be cool, but wouldn't that originate light issues?
hmm.gif but considering it's just a small infantry unit maybe the player won't even notice it.

Yet, this is a technician, a lovely designed one at that, and perfect for replacements. The technician would always have the weapon, usually small pistol, after it comes from the rubble.

Also, I think if you make a new weapon where the technician doesn't fire on the building he's going into, he'll work. But IDK, I'm a YR modder.

I'm sorry for big bumping, but can't you just give him C4 instead of engineer abilities? That would make him Highly Explosive Combat Engineer, i.e. Saboteur. x-D
