QUOTE (CommanderSpartan @ Jul 27 2009, 07:54 AM) Mega let down for me, then again, I never really had any hopes. Also why are they using p90s? Budget cuts? Maybe those two guards preferred them Handed down through the generations in their families Like a shotgun

It makes me feel excited and dirty at the same time! agreed, the only problem i have is no base building, but look at how good an rts world in conflict is

QUOTE (Revolutionary @ Aug 8 2009, 01:11 PM) agreed, the only problem i have is no base building, but look at how good an rts world in conflict is RTT* (real-time tactics). (You're not the only one who I've seen calling WiC or GC RTS games). QUOTE Bump, I know, but doesn't C&C4 take place after the end of C&C3, before the end of Kane's Wrath? Therefore, Nod must keep the tacitus while fooling GDI, or something. As far as I know C&C4 takes place years after Kane's Wrath's 3rd act (although I haven't played KW, I just read it's plot from wikipedia - seems to explain some of the continuation errors between TS and TW).

QUOTE (^Rampastein @ Aug 8 2009, 11:32 AM) RTT* (real-time tactics). (You're not the only one who I've seen calling WiC or GC RTS games). i only call it a RTS because gamespot does (having said that it calls DoW2 a RTS and if thats an RTS ill eat my hat) apparently there is a video of that scene which shows kane walking in to a wall and faling over that the ea person that mentioned it said my be leaked on to the net

RTS is relative, they call any C&C like game RTS but thats not all right.
Real Time Strategy - Refers to Strategy which is an overall view of a war, therefore technically any micro focused game really doesn't apply; a game focused on military moves and military economics belongs here.
Real Time Tactics - Never heard of it, but it speaks of Tactics, aka a Tactical view of a war, more focused view of a war; a game focused on micro or places heavy value on units is here.
One excellent example of differences is one attack on a British blockade during the Revolutionary War, (I'm American so this is the American Revolution obviously) I learned this off a show it just happened to mention the difference. The Turtle, the first submarine, was sent to destroy the flagship by drilling a hole in it's bottom and put a explosive charge, however since it was lined with metal to protect it for some kind of termite thing (I can't remember quite what it was), the pilot wasn't able to drill into it and headed back. While going back, the charge detonated while he was going back. From a tactical prospective, it was a failure, they didn't destroy the flagship. From a strategical prospective, it was a success, since the British got so scared from an attack from underwater that they stopped the blockade. Sorry if you already knew this but I'd figure I'd explain it.
Anyhow, we can only wait, perhaps the new style will help the game, maybe kill some of the C&Cness but breath new life in it at the same time.
