Well the best option would be to spam 10000 airplanes when your firestorm ran out - take out your critical structures.

Those artillery turrets would spell disaster on any attempts to attack on the ground..

A quickie i made, the newest map by Ixith, Lake Istelv! A great map, be sure to download it.
Retro be the mod, most of the time when i build bases i use Retro, since it offers sandbags, light posts and light towers, with other various buildings and units.

Edit: Changed the picture with a night time one, looks alot better.

a nice little base. Was it done early in the mission? It lacks a bit of heavy base defense (like rpg).
btw, for what are those light towers and light posts good for? The light posts don't seem to lighten the base.
In my mod i only use the spotlight towers as guardtowers with a warning dummy weapon (using klaxon sound), a spotlight and a small cloak detection.

Well the reason why i didn't have any heavy defenses is because i didn't really think that they would fit anywhere, but now that i think of it, i probably could of have replaced some of those vulcans with em. Light towers and Light posts are for decorative purposes. Although the Light towers do help a bit, gives me a better warning than EVA and sooner too, the Lightposts, they do lit up the base a bit, and gives a nice glow.

Edit: I did it again, map by Clazzy, Indivisible. Retro yet again.
I really like the entrances, they actually defend rather well also, enemy units get clogged up there and tanks can't get to my lasers because of the walls, they hit the walls instead of the lasers. the reason why i made a new type is because there is an invisible lightpost on the way of my walls, right next to the gate, and it would of have looked rather weird.

Edit 2: I also got all of the saved games of the bases above, if anyone wants to mess around. In most of the maps the AI is untouched, at lvl 2 and as many as there can be of em. I'd recommend the GDI one, great base, a lot to explore, 3 AI's, no attacks against the AI's, AI set to lvl 2 and a great map.

Greetings Commander, welcome to Manchester. *Grin*





Well, here is the massive base i promised.

The Mod is retro. I'm GDI against blue GDI.



The Construction Center.



Outer defence. There is also wall to the south.



Primary Air Base.



A small outpost, i had a pic of the main entrance, but i accedently overwrote it. confused.gif It had 4 MSA's, 2 titans and about 3 RPG towers with 2 Vulcans. A bit of AA i think, can't remember.



A harvesting Center, with a power grid.



Secondary Air base, with Fireteam Willcot.



Tiberium Research Center.



Vehicle Manufacting Factories with a storage area. The MCV's proved useful to expand.



Secondary storage area and small barracks. Also has an artillery platform defending the bridge to the south.



Another Tiberium Harvesting Operation.



Intel Center.



Light forward Defence outpost defending the bridge.



Recruitment Center. The armory is a training ground for recruits. It is set in the middle of the city, so people come and sign up. The following week, they spend 7 weeks in the Armory training. They then get flown off into the GDI Base.



Observation outpost overlooking the City.



The other part.



Another bridge defence platform



Forward Attack outpost. Also is a train station for recruits flowing from the surrounding regions.

wow, a really big base. I like how you included the map specific terrain parts (like railroads,bridges,hills etc).

That's done in FinalSun right? Because if i remember you can't build 3 mammoths. Even if it would be built in-game i don't really like ike it, it's waay to clogged up, if GDI, or Nod i can't really make it out whose base is that, have all the technology that the opposing faction has, the war would be rather quickly over. There seems to be a little organisation aswell, buildings are too close, there should be atleast a 1 cell wide path to move around.

Why on earth do people use those light post's in their mod's? They're the ugliest addition to any mod, what-so-ever.

Scrin Base in my custom mods and custom mission map



Offtopic : LKO I have little question on first base on page 6 why Nod gate can be laser fence post. And for AI that use mech to attack in that map do you use autocreate or AI trigger cause in map that I post I try to use AI trigger for scrin to attack but attack but when I use autocreate. It work correctly.

Units with C4 can destroy laserfence sections, so i just blew up 3 of them to make space for the gate.
I just added to the original teams of this map some of my own units, so the AI attacks with my new units too.

btw, nice scrin base you've there. What are those 2 high backbone like things on the north border and from which game do they come from? (afaik they're not from Starcraft)

C&C3 Scrin's Strom Column I make it by cut cap screenshot frame by frame to make ActiveAnim.

Here is the perimeter defences for my base in the last FS Nod mission,



The core defender still wiped out the obelisks, the lasers, power plants, SAMs and most of the artillery before I managed to destroy it. There are a few elite Banshees at the main base that contribute when things get bad. The EMP cannons are a new addition, not sure if they have any effect on the core defender yet.

units with IsCoreDefender=yes not only get the high selection box, they're also immune against emp weapons.
So your EMPs won't stop him.

Well i tried to make a small nod base yesterday, which failed. Not because of my lack of skill, but mostly because of the local habitation.

HINT: It's orange.


Reason 1:



Failed harvesting operations. This caused lack of income, resulting in more things:



2)



The failed harvesting operations resulted in a loss of my ConYard



3)



A noisy neighbour moved in, and didn;t stop until he invaded my property D=. I was on Tech level 9, so GDi couldn't Ion Cannon me. It was too late to destroy. When it got in, I was already too weak.




4)



God damn artillary!



5)



Another failed harvesting operation.
