Hi guys,

is there any possibilty to make the firestorm defence section forever active?

I mean it loads for 1 second and then works 5 hours.

what has to be changed in the rules.ini?

Change the time needed to charge the Firestorm defence here:

[FirestormSpecial]
Name=Start/Stop Firestorm Defense
IsPowered=true
RechargeVoice=00-I162
ChargingVoice=
ImpatientVoice=
SuspendVoice=
RechargeTime=3
Type=Firestorm
SidebarImage=FSTDICON
UseChargeDrain=true

Also, find this control under the [General] section:

; firestorm defense controls
ChargeToDrainRatio=.333
DamageToFirestormDamageCoefficient=.001

".333" means the defense will need 3 minutes of charging to be active for 1 minute.
"3" would mean it needs 1 minute of charging to be active for 3 minutes, i think.

you can balance it however by increasing DamageToFirestormDamageCoefficient= and thus when under assault the firestorm wall would actually fall a lot quicker like it should do.

Also logical e.g. draining more power to deflect, destroy projects, aircraft, etc instead of draining really quickly just because its turned on.

Hmm... This topic has me curious as well about the missions in Firestorm that have the Firestorm Defence protecting Cabal... Were those firestorm defences forever lasting because of triggers? Or INI editing? I'll look when I go home.

Triggers. There is some kind of trigger that says something like "Activate Firestorm Defence", which will keep working untill disabled by another trigger...

I'm thinking of making a Militia type mod, I'm gonna try and make it have a new gaming style.
So far I'm trying to get most of the units to work, then I'm gonna try some other things, thats all I can tell you.
