Topic moved.

If there are new terrain tiles that have been added to the game (like with Terrain Expansion or another mod), the map will appear to be corrupt if you open it in FinalSun without that mod installed.
Click "yes" and the missing tiles will turn to dirt tiles, click "no" and the tiles will remain blank.

TB I believe he is asking how you install finalsun. Not what happens when the map file itself appears to be corrupt.

I am not sure what version you have downloaded but to install the newest version (version 1.01) its just a simple drag and drop. From there you click on the giant green icon that says FS on it. And wala FS opens up and asks for your language and tells you something then opens up.
However, if it is not allowing you to extract the contents from the ZIP file then perhaps you should try to redownload it from somewhere else. Where did you download it from last time?

Though if you have it installed and it is corrupting when you are attempting to open a map then the problem is what Team Black has described to you.

If you can provide more details about it or even pictures of the message and when it is occurring then that could help us help you.

Finally...welcome to the community Arkroyal4. I hope you enjoy your stay with us and I also hope to see something cool from you in the future. smile.gif

i had that problem when i first installed it, theres an option somewhere that tells the finalsun .exe to look for your TS install folder. its probably checking for a folder in program files with a different name or a different location. if you have the first decade, then you need to get the exe to check *wherever TS is installed* for EAGAMES/COMMANDANDCONQUERTHEFIRSTDECADE/TIBERIAN SUN/SUN etc

Nope, it checks the registry keys (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westwood\Tiberian Sun\InstallPath).

If you have The First Decade, make sure you have TFD Patch 1.02 installed.

If you have normal TS, FinalSun should ask for the path to Game.exe. Make sure it's correct.

Just delete FinalSun.ini and it should ask you where TS is installed the next time you start FinalSun.

If you have TFD you have to install something called TFD shortcut installer. Google is your friend! wink1.gif

If you don't have The First Decade, then it goes into it's own folder. Mine is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Anynmous\My Documents\FinalSun\FinalSun.exe

and it works fine. So just stick FinalSun into it's own folder like mine above, and make sure you save the maps you make in the TS directory or they won't work in game.
