Okay, you read the title right.
I had to reply to one of Corsair's messages before I could post this. And also, I didn't know quite where to post this, so whatever.
I was out yesterday after school, faaaaaaaaar out in the desert, to play a game of paintball with a whole lot of friends and some others I didn't know. We had fun, one guy busted a knuckle, but that was all that pretty much happened during the game. It was nearly night time, with only little bit of light left. It was getting really cold and quiet, and the wind was starting to pick up. I hear one of my friends on my small radio, telling everyone to get ready to leave, as it was extremely late. I get to the spot where the trucks were supposed to be, but find none. I can see the tire tracks, I look up, and in the distance I see them driving away. I scream out, and try to speak into my radio. I find that they turned their's off. Pretty messed up joke. I check my backpack, find I have two canisters of CO2 left, and around three hundred paintballs. I see I'm missing another two. I start walking untill I come across U.S. 54, and I continue down it towards El Paso. No one was driving that day, I don't know why, so I don't meet anyone who can drive me. I pull up my mask, as I am sweating, and wipe my face with my bare arm. Okay. I walk for a few hours, untill it's really dark. I had only the faint moonlight to guide me. Suddenly I hear some rustling in a dead bush nearby, so I turn and walk backwards, aiming my paintball gun in the direction of the noise. I hear a scratching behind me, as If a dog was running across the road. I spin around, and sure enough I see a wild dog. Two of them. I begin to walk a little faster, looking for those damned things. I hear a growl, running, so I look to my right and see a coyote running at me. Frantically I shoot at it with my gun, but it only slows the dog a little bit. It jumps at me, so I raise my arm to block it. It bites into my arm, I scream out, and with my left fist I punched it. It dropped and stepped back a few steps. I hear more dogs coming, from behind me, my right, my left, and in front of me. I can't tell. Something jumps up onto my back and knocks me down. I used my arms to break the fall, but I dropped my paintball gun in the process. The dog on my back tries to get at the rear of my neck, but the mask/helmet barely prevented the thing from getting at it. I try to stand, but another dog begins to rip at my left leg. In all the commotion I didn't hear my friends truck drive up, and I didn't see it, his lights were off. He honks and hits the pedal, scaring off the dogs. I get in, scared as hell, and he drives me off to the hospital or clinic thing on Fort Bliss, and because I was a military dependant, it was free. (yay) They check on me, and they don't find any form of immediate disease. I remained home today, but I just didn't think about the compter untill I heard a bus drive by my house. I then decided to tell everyone I knew across the web, including everyone here.
Can I call my "friends" friends anymore? What kind of jackass would leave some one out in the desert?
Anyway, I'm doing fine, I have but a few bite marks on me. Oh yeah, my dogs won't come near me anymore. *sigh*

Holy sh*t dude. I would start some extreme sh*t with them over that. You coulda been hurt a lot worse than just a few bites.
Hell, we have coyotes here, though I am sure they are at least somewhat different around here than where you are, but they sounded nasty. I heard two of them fighting up in the woods just by my house a few years ago and it scared the frickin' crap out of me. Then one day our motion sensor light turned on in the back and my dad went to go see what it was and he saw one running to go try to hide behind a small tree.
but yea...I wouldn't let those so called "friends" get away with leaving you behind like that.

QUOTE (Scorch @ Apr 4 2008, 07:00 PM) Normally not that loud! From my gun you can only hear a click and then a wooooooosh. If it was louder, perhaps you could have at least scared them.

Wow, that's scary. Good thing you had that gear on to protect you. (And yay for free service ) I agree with you, those guys are not your friends anymore, doing something so dumb and reckless. Too bad they were so far away or you could have shot them Glad to hear you're not hurt too bad.

I've been stalked by coyotes before, but they wouldn't come near me. I guess they could sense the AR15 in my hand. One got pretty bold and actually began walking BESIDE me about 3 meters. But I can't say I've ever been attacked by them. Those dogs are ruthless. You gotta be careful dude.

When i lived in airdrie (a small town in alberta) my house was on the very edge of the neighborhood, past my house was just prairie, dust and open pits from the construction of houses that were never finished. me and my friends spent ALOT of time wandering around out there, occasionaly we would find the dismembered leg of a deer, this was because there was a big den of coyotes (maybe they were wolves, i dunno) lived not far away. often we would wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of them howling, the next morning there would be paw prints in the snow in our backyard, the occasional dead rabbit/bird and such. we never actually saw them though, we knew where their den was, and that they liked howling in my backyard. (i was like 8 years old around this time)
