well....with slight tid bits of stuff left to do on quite a few maps I started 2 more. LOL Yes boredom of old WIPs causes me to make new WIPs....not a good thing if you don't like a cluttery mess of WIPs. XD

These 2 maps are rather...well interesting in my personal opinion....Still have MUCH to do even for the basic layout on both of them but i feel like showing ONE of them off. Reason being I want to use the other one as a possible OMC4 for TS entry when the time comes if I don't have one I like better ready.

Anyways...this map is something different in a way...The lay out is fairly nice...but it also features a LARGE urban amount on the map. Though I haven't quite started to place the civilian buildings there will be many areas of them...just look at the minimap.

However, expect more mutation areas to show up. The main idea of this map is for it to be a large city in a yellowish zone that is only getting worse.
Ideas for possible triggers...
-Moving vehicles (is the only for sure one right now...)
-Ion storm(s)
-Meteors?
-Evacuation for civilians
-Train? (depends on if a train fits in with the rest of the map...will have to wait to see if the map will be good for a train. )

Well, I think having a minimap gives you less comments because you really can't see much on it rolleyes.gif Not a whole lot to comment on you know.. tongue.gif

Based of the minimap, it looks pretty good.. seems like an interesting map...

hmmm well...as inactive as I may seem to be I am actually somewhat active tongue.gif
so here is a look into what i have for you ingame on that urbanmutation map. smile.gif

as you can see lighting is coming along quite nicely. I still need to adjust some areas but for the most part it is a nice lighting. The blue tib areas have a nice blue to them (thank you negative red light posts! biggrin.gif although I need to slightly edit them to make their visibility slightly less so they don't affect too much of an area. ) But like usual my Invis Orange light posts like to be a pain and be different on every map. LOL. I also need to make it slightly lighter for the primary beginning lighting.

As for details and such...well LAT and tree placement is done...now I need to go on to other detailing such as making buildings looked destroyed and certain pavement areas "dirtier" and add in the civis and various other tweaks here and there.
(BTW you may notice that this is a rare map in my case as it has NO water tongue.gif )

I really haven't added any of the triggers yet but I still expect a large amount of them on this map. Also it would appear the AI plays fairly well and with all 3 AIs with you they do use all routes for the most part. Makes me proud smile.gif

That lighting is beautiful. Really, It's the best lighting I've actually ever seen on any map screenshot. I'm not joking. Excellent work, Ixith.

Hmmm yea I am quite fond of the lighting to. However, there are a few places that need touched up, like certain blue tib areas lighting is a bit off (and in one case continues up on a cliff area and turns blocky as of right now wacko.gif ) and a few other areas where it might be too dark (especially when night time comes although I will have to wait until I add my day/night loop for that one.)

Anyways one more ingame screenie...then you won't get to see anymore until a little later when triggers and other small edits have been done. So in other words...you won't get to see anymore until its 98% ready for release. tongue.gif

I think I've never seen a lighting as beautiful as this map seems to have..
The cliffwork and the use of fona is also superb...

I can't wait for this map to get released! smile.gif

Can the players get on top of the cliffs with their harvesters or is the tiberium only for detail?

Also, just for interest; how long you've been mapping around?

I have been mapping for about 2 years now I think. I have 23 released maps and probably another 5 MPs in WIP if not more and about 10 SPs for TS:CO in the works/finished and awaiting the final touches. smile.gif

I have kinda lost a lot of interest for awhile however, I regained some interest when doing the change to TS:CO which all my SP maps will go to BTW. The regained interest was only for SP maps until just the other night when I got a grand 2 player map layout and idea in my head which quickly turned into this...

I think it brings areas of work from all my styles. Mutation areas are present though not as major as say Trivial Lands had. Yet there is water and green like Lake Istelv had in the bottom areas. There is a small city area in the central area and the islands and also an edge of a city in the upper right as you can see. As for the area that is covered in mutations...that is going to hopefully become something cool. I need to check into certain coding and what not still though....mainly concerning the meteor storms. Other than that lighting should play a key role in showing that area to.
This layout was actually kinda inspired by a mission idea that popped up in my head.

Work on other maps will hopefully continue soon to and result in releases in the near future...hopefully...just depends on how much time I actually get to work on them. School and Track are big time constraints recently.

ok...another map WIP though its not really new...I have had it sitting around for awhile though I just updated it somewhat....

name=moonlit waters
players=2
theater=temperate
size=70X70 so relatively small....

background: this map originally started out as an 50X50 sized infantry war map for TS:RO however RO went inactive and I had my own project to work on and it sat for awhile. Then about a month ago I thought about releasing it publicly as an Infantry War map but never did partially because I didn't want to do all the coding to make it an infantry war map in which you can still build most of the buildings and what not. So finally yesterday I looked at it again and decided to increase the size somewhat and make it a normal 2 player map.

as you can see tiberium is for the most part between the 2 players meaning the players will have to fight for control of it. Though each player does have 1 tib field that is slightly closer than the big fields. This map is nearly complete. All that needs to be done is to add in the moving vehicles which will be kind of extensive...maybe..

also the map from the above post has it's layout and details completely finished. I now just have to make the lighting really good and also do some coding tid bits to try to make the thing I want work and also add in the triggers.
